Survive That!

The one thing I've been dying to see happen in The Amazing Race from the beginning of time has happened!
A chickaroonie has faced the ultimate nightmare of shaved-head terrors and kicked the beasts butt into oblivion.
How unbelievably
amazing was Joyce? Everything that happened with her and Uchenna was just soo intense, the world stopped turning until the moment the Scary Dude whizzed the final shave.
I was a mess through it all - cracking at whether or not she'd do it, desperately wanting her to when they arrived, chortling when she got aggro with Uchenna as she said she'd do it, crying with her as it happened and then chuckling with delight at her purfectly bald head.
Uchenna's very right - as her hair started to disappear she looked more and more gorge in her super shape for a head. Her doing it has made me commit to her in fandom like I've committed to no other chick in any race through any season.
The best is that she's proven exactly how much braver, better and fabber she is than those stupid Blue Lagoon Pigs from two seasons ago.
Uchenna was wonderful too and also hysterical with the number of times he told her how beautiful she was. Hehe. He knew exactly what was good for him obviously and hopefully once her hair grows back, he won't stop.
How's hair and that whole ceremony for being such a weirdy thing? The entire experience of it really does mean something unexplainable and also strongly suggests that if you go to India, it's something that definitely has to be done.
Their coming first as a result was divine, except they didn't give them enough stuff. I wanted Phil to lavish pressies and holidays and everything you could possibly think of on them.
Imagine how sucky it would have been if Lynn and Alex had gone for the Fast Forward and gotten there before them? Actually, come to think, despite their crappy cuts they might have had the same crisis and been overwhelmed by their bitchy vanity.
The thing that freaked me out with them is that I haven't been able to stand them and yet I actually felt really disappointed at their elimination.
They were my worst at the beginning but over time there's something about them and their humour that's grown on me. It also has to do with who their final battle took place against and I suppose I have to say that Gretchen and Meredith were brilliant, even though I don't want to.
Their being the oldest couple to make it this far in the Race is an achievement of note, they've been determined, never given up and deserve being there more than Lynn and Alex who couldn't cope.
I know all this and yet would still have preferred them to have been thumped, particularly after Gretchen got so ridiculous on that elephant.
It wasn't her fault that she got onto it in the first place - that guy said she had to - but then, once she was on and realised she didn't need to be I couldn't believe she didn't get off to help poor Meredith.
This coupled with the tone she had when she was telling people to get out of the way and her blaming the elephant and camel for their being behind - it all contributed to me being on Lynn and Alex’s side.
To try to be fair to her accusations both the Detour and the Roadblock were hectic - espesh those camels who have to be the most stubborn animals in the world. Time and again, no matter where anyone encounters them, they prove their that their loving eyelashes and cute lippy faces hide a nasty terrible evil way down deep inside.
This is obviously why Kelly was the only one out of everyone who could relate to and control them. I'm very distressed by how buddy-buddy her and Ron are with Amber and Rob and couldn't believe how willingly Rob shared Sanjay with them . I'm sure he was just being him and lying when he said they all four got along well.
Without a doubt we're gonna be getting the humdinger of all scenes next week when Kelly tells Ron his being a POW proves he doesn't commit to anything, including war. Ha! It was just too
much when she said it.
Could she possibly, really, genuinely believe it? And if she does - which is guaranteed - how can she not be institutionalised or something equally insane? I can't wait to see how Ron's gonna respond - espesh with how he looks more and more like a murderer every episode.
Don't you think he'd be such a perfect casting for the role of a psycho whackjob? It's something to do with his teeth and the way he speaks to Kelly. When you contrast it with Rob and the way he treats Amber it’s very clear just how much Ron seriously loathes her.
Being so buddy-buddy with Rob and Amber he could learn a thing or too like how to push someone to do their best without judging them, no matter how intense the pressure. The way Rob said he couldn’t-see-his-girl made me very soppy and convinces me that they'll be married forever - hopefully as two-time millionaires!
Despite being on Joyce and Uchenna's side big time now, there's just noo ways I can betray my all-time faves as things start gruesoming-up towards the end. I can't believe there are only four teams left - getting to who’s gonna be in the final three has gone way too quickly.
As for who I want the teams to be - I want some mega, nucleonic disaster to strike Ron and Kelly next - even just the thought of their having a chance at winning is wrong on soo many levels.
