It looks like plans are back on track and the brothers are safe and sound. For now anyway.

Episode 6 ended amid a riot and pandemonium, leaving us hanging as to the fate of Sara, Michael, Lincoln and even poor CO Bob. And although Episode 7 had its moments, when the credits rolled, I was feeling more at ease. Relieved even.

This week we start off with Michael on the roof, hiding from helicopters and trying to find an entrance to the air ducts that will lead him to Sara.

Pope and the reinforcements are in the yard working out a plan of action. Pope believes that the inmates will standoff due to the unbearable heat. They had switched the water off an hour before and he was certain that it would bring the prisoners to their knees.

Bellick doesn’t agree with him. He wants to take the prisoners by force but Pope says it’s not protocol.

A shout from the prison cells gets their attention. It’s one of Abruzzi’s goons and he is telling them their demands. Which is to switch the AC back on.

They tell Pope they have a CO as a hostage. Bellick quickly confirms that it’s Officer Bob.

The goon also tells them that they have Sara. Pope is horrified and wants to know how they got to her. He demands that they send someone in after her and Bellick very sarcastically remarks that they can’t because it’s not “by the book”

In the meantime Lincoln is being led through a shortcut to where he believes Michael is. Turk, his guide, disappears into the steam and Lincoln stumbles around looking for him.

Green Bracelet Man

Turk reappears from above, trying to strangle Lincoln with a wire. Lincoln fights back and although he is bleeding he manages to get away from Turk.

Inside Gen Pop, Sucre is preparing to go into the hole in the wall so that he can continue drilling.

T-Bag is there with a tied-up Officer Bob, who begs Sucre not to leave them alone.  Unfortunately for him, the drilling must go on so Sucre leaves, ordering TB not to touch Officer Bob.

T-Bag holds the sheet over the cell door so that the other inmates won’t see what’s going on and while he is doing this he orders Officer Bob to secure the toilet back into place.

As Officer Bob bends over to do as he is told T-Bag licks his lecherous lips. This guy SERIOUSLY gives me the creeps.

In the sky, Veronica and Nick are on their way to Washington DC to follow up on a lead they received concerning the witness telephone call.

They discuss the victim, Terence Steadman, and mention that his company EcoField was involved in a project that that would introduce a prototype electric engine. Apparently, if this engine was approved, oil at 60 dollars a barrel would be a thing of the past. And the US Governments which has an oil-based economy could ill afford to have that happen.

Sara is still locked in her office with the crazed inmates trying to get to her. Now this is what I mean about how crazy riots are. These are the patients she was helping only minutes before the riot broke out and yet, here they were, terrorizing her and if they get hold of her there’s no telling what they will do to her.

Window

Michael is crawling through the vents trying to get to Sara before the other inmates do.

The inmate that Sara had pierced with a syringe is finally waking up and as he struggles to get up, he discovers some books and hatches a plan to smoke Sara out of her office.

They set fire to the book and throw it into the room and in order for Sara to kill the flames she has to move close to the door.

As she gets closer, one of the inmate’s arms grab her through the hole in the window and starts pulling her toward him. He has a hungry look in his eyes and licks (yuck) at her.

Sara and con

Sara fights back and stabs his arm with a make-shift weapon she made from broken glass.

She runs to the center of the room and sees Michael emerging from above. He pulls her up, assuring her that he will not harm her

In the yard Sara’s father, the Governor has arrived and he is not interested in anything but saving his daughter.

T-Bag has gone through Officer Bob’s wallet had has found a picture of his daughter in her prom dress.

He torments Officer Bob but is interrupted by Abruzzi. He warns T-Bag that Officer Bob is being used as leverage and he is not to be touched.

Abruzzi soon loses interest as he sees the hole in the wall.

Once the smoke has cleared, the inmates in sick bay realize that Sara is no longer in her office. They know that the only way out of there is through the vents so they follow her from the ground.

News of the riot at Fox River Pen has spread and there is live TV coverage, which Veronica and Nick see as soon as they land in Washington.

Veronica wants to know if they should go back (why, oh why???) and Nick correctly tells her that they cannot help by standing around; they have to go forward and investigate. He has an old college roomie waiting for them that has some information regarding the telephone call.

LJ, Lincoln’s son, is also watching the news with interest.

His mother and step-father are annoyed by this and she turns off the television. LJ lashes out at his mother and eventually his step-father steps in, pushing LJ to the floor.

LJ is sent to his room in tears.

LJ

Lincoln and Turk are still at loggerheads and Turk tries to hit Lincoln with a pipe. Lincoln ducks and fights back but in the end Turk, loses his footing and falls off the platform onto the floor below.

Lincoln goes down to see if he is still alive and tries to find out why Turk did this. But it’s too late. Turk dies without revealing anything to him.

Michael and Sara crawl through the ceiling and when Sara gets too tired to go on, they stop and for a short rest.

Michael tries to take her mind off what is happening but she wants to know how come he was there.

He explains that he saw her on the CO’s monitor and came to help her. And because one of his first PI duties was to remove toxic mold from the ceiling, he became familiar with the layout.

He quickly changes the subject by telling her that they have to move on.

Unfortunately, the sick bay inmates heard them, and they hoisted one of them up so that he could peer into the ceiling.

Chasing Sara

Michael realizes what is happening and as the inmate’s head appears, Michael kicks him so that he lands on the floor below.

The Governor is getting more and more irate and chastises Pope for not doing enough. He overrules Pope’s authority and tells the Captain to get his men ready to go in.

Bellick (suck up) goes to the governor to praise him for taking a stand. He believes that force needs to be used and the Governor is obviously pleased that someone else is supporting him.

While drilling holes into the devil, Sucre is praying earnestly. Abruzzi sneaks up behind him and gives him the fright of his life.

He explains what he’s doing and Abruzzi offers to help him. Just as Sucre is warning him to be careful because of the gas pipes, the lights go out and they have to continue drilling in the dark.

Sara and Michael emerge from the ceiling. As he helps her down their eyes lock. They stare into each others eyes and it is clear that Michael wants more than just an Insulin shot from Sara. (The feeling is mutual off course)

Just then, the inmate that Sara stabbed with her make-shift weapon, walks in on them and makes a grab for Sara. Michael interferes and a fight ensues.

Another one of the sick bay inmates come along and now they are 2 against Michael.

At first Sara stands and watches and eventually she kicks the one inmate's injured knee, he falls to the ground, screaming like the whiney baby he is.

Michael then fights the remaining inmate and manages to bring him down too and he and Sara manage to make a run for it before anyone else appears.

Abruzzi is drilling in the dark and finally the final hole is complete.

He hands Sucre a metal pipe, giving him the honor of knocking the wall down. (Or the gas pipe)

Sucre starts knocking away and finally a hole appears. The two of them peer though it and realize that their mission has been a success.

Pope questions the Captain as to Sara’s whereabouts and he says that he is working on it. The Governor says that they should listen to Bellick and gas the whole block.

Pope firmly replies that whatever happens at Fox River Pen will be his responsibility.

A sniper alerts them that he has located Sara and that has ‘him” in sight.

Him being Michael off course, and as the sniper’s red laser finds Michael’s chest, Sara sees it.

Aim at Michael

She doesn’t want to leave because she is afraid that Michael will get shot. He assures her that  she doesn’t have any choice.

He tells her that as soon as she’s out the door he will roll to the floor. She protests some more but just then the sick bay inmates approach them .

Michael pushes her out of the door and hits the floor.

Shots are fired and the stabbed inmate gets shot in the head.

As Sara is being led away, Michael crawls away to safety.

Veronica and Nick meet up with Nick’s friend in an undercover parking lot. He tells them that he managed to trace the number (with great difficulty) and he hoped that they wouldn’t be too disappointed.

Apparently, the call came from a pay phone and Nick and Veronica go and check it out.

The scan the surrounding buildings, one of which is empty. Nick approaches a security guard and discovers that EcoField, the company that belonged to the late Terrence Steadman, used to be there.

The  camera pans in on them from afar and you get the feeling that they are being watched.

Just then the telephone rings. A very nervous Veronica answers the phone and a male voice on the other end of the line knows that it is her. She asks who it is and he tells her that THAT is her problem. She asks too many questions.

When Nick takes the phone from her, the voice says “as of right now, both of you are dead”

Phone Booth

I need to take a minute out here for a small rant.

That Veronica annoys me no end. The way she moves, especially the way she moves her neck, and the way she talks just grates me. She constantly has this doe-in-the-headlight expression that is just so grrrrrrrrrr.

AND why did they have to go to Washington to look at a phone booth? Surely Nick’s friend, who happens to be a PI, could have done some digging and come up with the same answers.

AND how did that person that called them know they were there? I know I said I got the impression that they were being watched from afar, but really, is that phone being watched 24/7 just IN CASE somebody comes to take a look at it?

Or did the person just HAPPEN to look out from several stories above and just HAPPEN to recognize the speck of a person as Veronica?

Ok, so they were being followed when they were back home. But who knew they would end up at the phone booth and WHY would they phone them to warn them, when they could just take them out, there and then?

Maybe I’m over analyzing, but like I said, Veronica irks me and everything she does irks me. RANT OVER. Back to the recap.

T-Bag is still tormenting officer Bob. He is licking his daughter’s prom photo, telling Bob just what he will do to her when Lincoln storms into the cell.

He is looking for Michael and is frantic with worry. Just then Sucre and Abruzzi emerge from the hole in the wall.

Lincoln stares at them incredulously, then grabs Sucre and drags him out of the cell.

He is angry that T-Bag knows about the escape plan and demands to know where Michael is.

Sara is being escorted to an ambulance to be checked out when she sees her father. She runs to him and they hold each other but then he starts the whole “I told you so” routine.

Sarah & Dad

He doesn’t even stop long enough to find out how she is before he orders the guards to clean up the mess.

The guards are getting ready to storm A Wing and the inmates are still running amok.

Michael reaches Gen Pop and runs into Lincoln. The 2 brothers embrace and I am certain that I see tears of relief in Michael’s eyes.

Lincoln & Michael

They go up to the cell as the guards storm in and everyone quickly disperses.

T-Bag wants Officer Bob but Michael is having none of it. T-Bag says that bob knows too much but Bob swears that he won’t tell anyone. Abruzzi gives Bob one last warning and they let him go.

T-Bag hides away and when no one sees him, starts making his way to Officer Bob and when he reaches him, he stabs Bob repeatedly.

Officer Bob

He finishes him off by throwing him over the railing, while Michael and Westmoreland looks on.

And as much as I loathe T-Bag, I can’t see that they had any choice but to get rid of officer Bob. A man fighting for his life would say anything, but there is no telling what he would have done once he was released. T-Bag was right. That one was for the team.

Sara is sitting in the back of an ambulance, taking stock of the injured and the dead when Ron walks past. She asks him why they assigned PI to remove the toxic mold and he gives her a confused look.’

He says that they would never assign inmates for that job. And now it’s Sara’s turn to look confused.

The episode ends with a very worried Michael staring into space.

They might have broken through the wall but I am sure he regrets the death of Officer Bob. He had done what he wanted to do, but it had cost officer Bob his life and nearly Sara’s as well.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
