It's just after 23h30 on Monday night, Day 9, and all the housemates are already in bed. Most of them asleep and some of them reading quietly.
Shamepies. They're obviously exhausted. Perhaps the emotional strain of it all is starting to set in? While they doo-doo it's a good time for Big Brother viewers to reflect on various things of interest happening in the house they're sleeping in.
For starters, this morning I was watching shower hour and I thought: "After two seasons of seeing naked showerers I cannot believe that this whole shower-naked-thing actually continues to draw millions." In that moment it all looked so weirdy to me, seeing Tapuwa showering with me watching on. Watching her for a full five minutes, wash her feet, her hair, her face, etc.
The camera also slipped outside to get an outside silhouette view, because with the new shower door you can basically see through. You can also see through the toilet door! You know, I don't think any of them has mentioned it but I really wouldn't love my fellow housemates being able to see me on the loo. Knowing what sort of ablution I was doing. Think about it.
For the men - you'd always know if they were doing a poo. In fact, I still wonder if that toilet-cam is permanently switched on. I mean - is there a camera person there full-time just in case two people go in? Do they see everything? Would I be a prude if I was unhappy if they did?
I see Bruna won't shower naked and the SMS messages keep telling her she must. Like she's actually gonna see them. Duh. Why send them if you know they are going to have absolutely no impact on any of the housemates' behaviour.
In fact, I don't for a moment understand what those SMS's are all about. It's not like people are sharing their thoughts on the action in any kind of useful or insightful way, are they? In fact, last year they just got plain nasty, especially when Mandy picked up weight. An SMS is just so short that to actually say anything vaguely interesting or worthy of being read by others is very hard to do.
So the SMS's want Bruna to strip, which she ain't gonna do. You know, Bruna is interesting because she's the perfect Early Night Peep. Have you noticed? She loves getting in her jarmies early and climbing into bed with a book. She also loves lying in the lounge under a blankie. She was the only one in bed on Friday night instead of in the jacuzzi. All this is certainly not the stereotype I'd imagine a sexy, sultry Portuguese singer would be.
Which I suspect means that viewers might be disappointed. They might feel she's not what they were bargaining for. Perhaps they'll feel she's not giving them enough entertainment. She's also very non-committal in her diary room entries, which means her entertainment value lies in the way she sings. Or is it? I saw her blasting Bayo the other day and it was quite exciting even though I wasn't able to work out her argument at all.
I am not quite sure what to make of Bruna. I certainly don't dislike her. I haven't really seen enough of her. Look, her quietness could be as a result of having to share the limelight - however, the only limelight she seems to really enjoy is when she sings.
Look - she's not gonna win. But will she stay around a long while because she's not directly upsetting anyone, or will they think she's unhappy and missing her own bed, and decide to send her home soon?
