Okay I've been trying. Really hard. To find some hot and juicy gossip regarding The Brady Bunch. The Big Brother clan, who are just too cool and groovy for words. They love. They laugh. They sing. They jacuzz. They are one nation. Yes, yes, I love harmony and stuff but really - this lot are just too much. Enough already!
You know what? The thing is is this. I suspect most of the contestants feel that they're representing their country and hence they're on their best behaviour 24/7. You can't blame them though. The whole structure of the show is kinda geared towards it. It's like it's aiming to promote peace, harmony and stuff. Show how connected the African continent is.
So, it's day three and the point is proved. It's quite remarkable actually. The way everyone from all over Africa is different, but the same. Lovely. It makes me very pleased. But we need some action please for the next 104 days!
Okay, so there is a little something I've noticed. There is one particular contestant who may be a bit ... um ... how do I put this ... 'odd' is perhaps the correct word? It's Bayo. The nudie. No, no I don't think he's odd because of that - (although he hasn't actually walked around nude, which he really should if he is a nudie. Surely?) Anyway ... sorry - basically his oddness is to do with something else. A distance he has between himself and others. I have often noticed him hanging out on the sidelines. Looking in. Watching. His laughter is often that toned-down laughter that happens when you don't really think something is funny, but rather feel obligated to laugh.
He's not too fond of Gaetano either. He said so in the diary room. Apparently Gaetano cracked a joke about Nigerians, saying that his image of Nigerians is that they're thieves. Interesting not so? Gaetano is obviously not politically correct. Bayo doesn't dig this. In addition Gaetano is quite popular himself and interacts at a slight distance too. In a way this has given him a weirdy kinda status in the house. He engages just enough to get people on his side. His very striking appearance and eyes adding to the image.
In his diary room Gaetano said that he hadn't done 'anything yet', implying that he would. I'm thinkin' by 'anything' he means "take people on", "be outspoken" and stuff. So, Bayo is gonna love him even more. In fact, get this: Zein, Warona, Abby and Gaetano were in the kitchen, with Bayo sitting on the outskirts. Gaetano cracked a joke about farting (why, why, why? I cannot understand why farting is so funny) - anyway, everyone was hysterical. Everyone except Bayo. Aha. The plot sssssickens.
Now, this particular little foursome were interesting too. Zein said he and Warona had made a 'connection'. I'll tell you why this is. Zein is quietly spoken, sensitive and polite. He's not like the other men. Don't get me wrong, he's not effeminate - he's just not like them. Warona is fast becoming the strongest woman in the house and hence Zein has latched on. Wherever she is - he is. It's not romantic interest, it's something else. I'd suspect the stronger 'connection' comes from his side.
Now, I know I promised to discuss Alex, but whoops! I have run out of space - perhaps a little something on him tomorrow?
Now, what do you think - are these little tensions all in my head or could these be the start of the The Bloody Bunch? Oh, how I wish ...
