Eish, you know how it's like, you spend two days away from work and when you return, the work has piled up. But ke, I am so so so not complaining because I was on a very good 2 days sick leave last week on Thursday and Friday.
Gym addiction: If there was therapy for gym addiction, I would sign up for therapy but then again, miss therapy to go to the gym *hides*
Yazi to be honest, I really enjoyed my sick leave mina. My doctor ordered me to stay in bed for this sick flu that's tried to bring me down. I was very ecstatic when my doctor said, buy and take medication 1,2,3 and stay in bed. Yho, me in bed? Please bandla! Yazi on Thursday by 6:00 am I was already at the gym and spent hourzzzzzz there and on Friday Nkosi Yam', I was in Sandton and met up with a couple of friends and contacts and I also dropped by in Aukland Park to see how some peeps are doing. It was a very cool sick leave I'm telling you.
So, still on sick leave. Do you also enjoy being on sick leave? Or are you one of those who abuse the so called sick leave? Yazi, thina we just enjoy having time to ourselves every now and again akere.
Big spenders: Muvhango chows all its money then come August actors get paid late
again
Tjo, kante why is Muvhango still not learning? That show has been on air for over 13 years and still doesn't save money. Yazi this is shocking. I'm pretty sure a lot of you read in the City Press last week that Muvhango once again didn't pay their actors in time for the month of August, like really now! The same story has been repeating itself every August almost for the past five years. Hai maan, some folks!
What modesty: Blowing own horn already baby
Yazi you can't keep a good man down! Zola has a show coming up on etv called Rolling with Zola and has also dropped some album. I got a copy of the album from EMI and I am yet to listen to it. I am not sure if Zola is venting out his anger in his dedications since he tells us about how his women use his children to punish him. What I liked though is that he says we as men have a pivotal role to play in correcting society especially men and we can do so by starting to be great dads to our children. Akere the young boys are the ones who will be marrying our daughters. He has a point there but it aint a new idea.
EMI tells me she is the only musician -after Brenda Fassie - to sell 70 000 copies within 7 days
Tjo, who has been saying Zahara isn't a great singer and her album is boring? Some folks need to take a tape recorder and record themselves singing just one song and judge themselves against Zahara. Yazi I have the CD ne, and oh my my, the entire album is a piece of master work. Review coming up later in Makisto's Jukebox later on early October.
While still on Makisto's Jukebox. You guys can hate me if you want and you can shout at me if you want, I probably deserve it. I did some competition in conjuction with EMI and Bula Music. That was the beginning of winter and little did I know that every aspect of my life would be winter. Yazi my life took turns and curves that I never expected, I was forever on the road going up and down trying to make things right and correcting things that weren't well.
Only 1 CD available thanks to Makisto's drama: Now there are no enough CDs for Jukebox readers
I was even depressed at one point and had to go for counselling. I even had to reconsider everything about me and what I thought I knew. But ke now, it's Spring and I can now see it's also Spring in my life. Things are not yet ok but things do look promising. As The Annointed one puts it: "The God that we serve is still on His throne."
I am saying this because I never had time to go collect the CDs and DVDs for the give aways and the record companies gave them away for distribution in stores. However, I was able to still get a Rebecca, Ukuthula album for the give away. I will also give away some of my review copies because I had your hopes all up. At least then you wouldn't shout loudly at me.
One of Africa's most powerful politicians - Forbes
Moving right along, congratulation to Julius Maleme aka Juju who Forbes named one of Africa's most influential politicans. Phela Forbes is very reputable though we are not sure if we can say the same about Juju. Nonetheless, we are happy for him. You lot will remember him as the key player in ousting TM and getting JZ in the Albert Luthuli House. Now tell me if that aint powerful.
Pastor Big Nono: Apparemtly all these women enjoy being musterbated by him and they all fight over his big nono, alleges my source
#Deathby Pastor Mbhoro who was on Kuli Roberts' show Headline last Thursday. Yazi the whole interview was hilarious nje. Le teng, what do you expect from Kuli's show? She is the unrivalled queen of print and broadcast celeb-goss.
Money makes the world go round: Show me the money or I'm hitting the road! "Get off your high horses you fans," I can imagine the fake Ntombi telling Sonia fans
#Deathby a fake Ntombi aka fake Sonia Sedibe swearing at people on Facebook and poor Sonia doesn't even know what a Facebook profile is. *dead* Akere this fake dudette has a Facebook profile under actress Sonia Sedibe's name. The star told the Sowetan last week that she is shocked about the dudette opening the account under her name: "I nearly fell off my chair because I didn't know what they were talking about. The person was saying bad things about people and swearing at them. I am baffled to say the least. I know I am not the only one going through this but this is damaging my reputation. Some people were convinced that I was the one behind the account," she told Sowetan.
She is apparently pressing charges against the imposter. Kwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Just so you guys know, Ntombi has resigned from Generations because they were not pumping more moolah in her bank account.
Gimme more or else: You know what I'm saying
Another actress who isn't happy about a local soapie not pumping more moolah in her bank account is Gugu Zuma who played the 1st Lesedi in Isidingo. The show wasn't giving her enough money for the duration they wanted her back and she showed them the middle finger. A well-placed source of mine tells me she couldn't reach an agreement with the producers and came with sort of "counter-offers" and they had to let her go and recast the role so Lesedi can leave for good and go be with her Ghanaian new lover.
Versatile: First Class Actress
Still on Isidingo, I just have to commmend Ferry Jele on being a top actress. That is one brilliant actress which you don't find always. She is doing a terrific job as Lesedi and Sechaba's mother and she plays one scheming mama.
When you are good you are good: We gotta give it to her
Ferry played some boring cameo role in Generation back in 2005. I think that was back in the days of Mzansi the drama series in which she also had a role. She also had a good mama role in Jacob's Cross, a lesbian role in Society which she played with perfection. With the same kind of perfection, she is now busy playing Lesedi's mom. Well done Ferry, I wish you can last longer on Isidingo yazi. It's just a pity she will not be in The Deep end for long because my source tells me that her contract is expiring soon. However, one thing is for sure, we are going to be seeing more of her on our local screens, she is one brilliant actress Jo!
