Monday World Celebrates Great News

Where do we start mara hey? Any way, what's with Sunday World exaggerating and reporting that Malaika is set to split despite the facts of the story not corroborating with their title?

Malaika
Malaika: No more Sweet Angels?

The paper reports that band members Bongani and Tshidi are no longer performing together at gigs. Apparently Tshidi started doing so after Bongani was going through a divorce and the matter took its toll on him. Meanwhile, the show needed to go on as Tshidi had bills to pay and had to MC at events and perform at gigs here and there.

Tshidi and Bongani
Malaika means sweet angel[s]: Tshidi alleges Bongani no longer wears Malaika costumes and no one tells her anything

I know Bongani is my pastor's friend and everything and that he sometimes reads my TVSA articles but that doesn't mean he is above scrutiny. Just so Bongani knows, I wish him him all the best in life. I think he did well by selling his expensive car to buy a smaller one so he can take care of his family. I admire any man who puts his family first and that really inspires me. Mamaqhashela must be proud.

I am patiently awaiting the release of your album guys.

Still on album releases, Mafikizolo has been threatening to release an album this year and we are waiting to see how it will sound. Knowing Theo and Nhlanhla, we can only expect the best.

Khanyi Mbau
Is Khanyi Mbau's book released already? Lesley, do tell and give me a review copy

Has anyone had from Lesley Mofokeng about his Khanyi Mbau biography? I do not think I will really buy that book, if it was a Khanyi Dlomo book, I would run from Exclusive Books to CNA looking for it. Maybe I need to ask Lesley to give me a review copy. Akere I am in the media and I should get a media copy, lol.

Luclay
Viewers' choice but Big Brother allegedly rigged votes as their voting system isn't credible

Who voted for that Zim dude in BBA? Whoever voted, it most certainly isn't the "Zimbos" as one blogger puts it. My friend is convinced "Zimbos" don't have money to vote as their only primary, secondary and tertiary concerns is struggling to afford basic necessities. Therefore, how can Zimbo win, asks my friend.

I just need to ask a few questions. Who counts the BBA votes? Are they audited? Is the auditing process credible? Is BB allowed to cheat?

Sophie Ndaba
Sophie Ndaba has a new man or it's a marketing gimmick

He banna! Sophie Ndaba has a new man or is this just a marketing gimmick? Most of you saw my shock on Twitter and Facebook after the Zoost Review advert where Sophie puts in a good word for Inkomazi saying: "My children love it and so does my man". When she says my man, we are shown some guy who my female friend is convinced is a hunk. Don't even get me started about how Inkomasi is in conflict with Sophie's alleged diet.

Friends Like These
Friends Like Boring: Nothing personal but the show must be canned already

I am not the one to always complain but can Friends Like These be canned already mara? I am just sick and tired of the game. This is nothing personal against Dj Sbu but rather expression of shock at Urban Brew and SABC 1 failing to make the show more exciting by doing a complete revamp. For as long as the show is still on TV, I will always reach for my remore control after RGB.

Jonny Molefe
Makisto may just blackmail "Prof" Molefe to get a doctorate

"Professor" Johnny Molefe, I also want a doctorate, do you still have phone numbers of the St George International University? Or better still, since I want mine to be valid and internationally recognised, you can instruct TUT Registra to issue me one and the fees for writing my thesis will be on you or else, I will be publishing letters that you received from SAQA. Do we have a deal?

Nonhle Thema
You "can't keep a good woman down" you Vuzu, ok!

I know you guys have petitioned that we don't write about her any more but Nonhle Thema continues to dominate in the news. The Heat magazine this week has a story about "Why Nonhle will not shut up". I have not bough and read the magazine yet and I don't want to see reprint of her tweets, I wanna see new information please. Phela that mag is expensive. In any case, you cannot put a good woman down as per this Nonhle tweet: "i had papers, magz and people trying to bring me down.IM STILL STANDING BOOM with over 500 000 hits on my online channel.#TeamNonhle WINNING. and another one saying "im not even on TV anymore yet i have 57 000 followers and 500 000 hits on my online channel.....wow im smiling for days BOOM..."

PruLuv
PruLuv couldn't help but jump up and down after her article was published in Windhoek

BOOM silly haters, PruLuv is rich you silly haters. Her article titled Who'll Be The Winner Of Big Brother Amplified?  caught the attention of The Namibian such that she received a call all the way from Windhoek with editors asking to republish her article in their paper and she couldn't stop dancing the whole of Thursday and Friday night. Siya kubongela sis wethu. BOOM, wena naa, BOOM you are too rich for this.

Muzi Clive
Muzi Clive shines while Sdumo Mtshali disappears

Where is Sdumo Mtshali konje? I last saw him in Class Act finale saying he did Intersexions and just finished filming the movie for the role he won on the competition. But it seems it is Muzi Clive, Malusi and Yonda Thomas who are more succesful in the field. Muzi is forever starring in the local low-budget productions for Mzansi Magic and is now co-starring Yonda in Fallen. Meanwhile Malusi is joining Yonda in Muvhango ranks. More and more of the contestants are coming into the picture as Sdumo fades into obscurity. Just saying my observations, nothing personal.

While you are on the update, can you please correct the spelling mistakes as well Makisto. I love how you narrate events and stuff, but ama-spelling mistakes just takes the juice from your otherwise brilliant Monday-World articles.

I saw the BBA results and 'that Zim guy' was voted by Zim and other countries, so I don't think it was rigged. I can't find anything wrong with Friends Like These but for some reason it doesn't interest me anymore. I even end up watching Ripley's ayi. If there's anybody who watches 7de Laan, do you think they are going to incorporate the Bio-Stratch ad campaign to real life like Generations did with Pep and Capitec?

makisto

Ok Biskiti, it's all done but wen alol you make it sounds like the errors were so major and everywhere. But any way thanks hey.

Hai General, I don't watch 7 de Laan hey so I don't about that bio oil thingie.

can't find anything wrong with Friends Like These but for some reason it doesn't interest me anymore.
The writing is on the wall my General, that means it is boring lol.

Can you print a PDF article and send it to me so I can do an article on those votes?

Lol PruLuv, the thing about why that article was published in other papers and sites all over the continent is because it rerally was an objective analysis

Sdumo Mtshali prefers to make smart choices with regards to his career. He refuses to take any script that is thrown at him. His focus at the moment is in film and theatre. When and if he decides to do television, he will only consider roles that will challenge him as an actor. Remember, he's not an amateur that's in this for the sake of being over exposed. He's an acting school graduate and he takes his craft seriously. Watch this space...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm not just intimidated by DjSbu's hustle. I can't stand FriendsLikeThese, I don't like his MetroFM show and the Vandal tshirts and and the word "ghubuluzing" just rub me the wrong way. So yha, maybe I'm jealous.

Muzi Clive, nhe...he's on all those low-budget movies I can't even tell them apart anymore, since he's the only familiar face in them and he appears on all of them. I don't know if its good or bad.

Tell your Friend to stop  stereotyping ......... Yes things are bad but not for every one..... and i am sure there are so many South African who are fighting for better service delivery and stay in shacks but not every one stays in shacks .....

@Makisto wen ar u going to announce the winners for the CD's???

As for BBA yona i think its about time they host it ko Nigeria or Zim. SA is so enough ka yona. Dis was a daily rip-off . they take us for granted this bloody agents. LUCLAY will always remain a winner in front of our eyes. Viva Luclay VIVA

@Makisto wen ar u going to announce the winners for the CD's???
Eish HenryB, I am going to announce the winners somewhere during the course of this month. I thought I was gonna be able to mantain the Jukebox but it's proving to be a challenge at the moment.

So, winners are not chosen yet. If you entered, you can still keep your fingers crossed that you feature among them. There is just so much that is going on in my life and how I wish they were great things but any way, I will rise above whatever challenges I'm facing, I always do in Jesus name.

My apologies on this regard, just hang with me.

The General
02 Aug 2011 10:45

I don't get why people are acting like the BBA results was a rip-off. From the results it shows Luclay got voted by SA and Botswana. Wendall got voted by Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and Kenya. So even if a billion people in SA had voted, it would still count as one vote. I guess Luclay was only popular in SA and Botswana, therefore that didn't give him enough votes...

The less said abt Kanyi & Nonhle the better. Theo said he is gonna do both solo & Mafikizolo. Bongani & Tshidi were so good together, we still need those December hits.

@The General - I watch 7de Laan and I hope they wont incorporate the Bio Strath thingie into the story line, coz sumtimes the writers/producers just loose the plot when they do that. On Miss Mbau,ke kwa ba re today she is going for cellulite removal, that child is gonna get old in the grave struu!

"Zimbos" don't have money to vote as their only primary, secondary and tertiary concerns is struggling to afford basic necessities.

Statistically, the average "of age" Zimbabwean is functionally more literate than the average South African, with higher levels of education...
economic bias & disadvantage in Zim is man made,
BTW ...
for those looking down on Zimbabweans ... watch the Zim economy shoot past ours (Like Angola's economy is shooting past ours) six years after Mugabe dies ... (provided certain proficiencies are returned)
In my opinion ... The Zimbabweans will definitely have the last laugh on us...

Be nice!

i respect your opinions  and intelligents on your blogs and enjoy reading your articles. however i do feel most writers even prolific ones do tend to over-generalise and in so doing, miss the point.

i agree with a fellow blogger who pointed out tht the average Zimbo as you are fond of calling us is comfortably off and does afford daily necessities as a matter of course. Once upon a time (2008), yes things were harsh for Zimbos, but now its a different situation.

how can a Zimbo win.........
why not, other countries besides zimbabwe voted for him. i for one would have loved to see Luclay win but was equally surprised he didnt. i have since learnt that the Zimbos orchestrated unique voting strategies, to ensure votes in other countries besides zim.

if Karen had got a zillion votes in Nigeria alone, she wouldnt have won. E, but a million votes frfom 6 countries made her a winner. Equally, a million votes for Luclay in Sa and Bots against a thousand votes for Wendall in 4 countries made the latter a winner.

do the Math.........thank you.
