Monday World
It's the first in a series of Monday World gossip clearly inspired by Shwashi and no one is immune of Makisto's Frankly Speaking brand extension, Monday World. Bloggers, Debora Patta, politicians, schelbs, magazines and more, all come under scrutiny as Frankly Speaking brand extension, Monday World, asks probing questions.

Cosho
Set for Mr and Mrs Smith kind of film?

Connie and Shona (Cosho) Ferguson, the movie that you guys will be starring in, is it a Mr and Mrs Smith kind of thing? If it is, then the film name should ne Cosho. Makisto thinks you guys are a model couple. Will you please share tips on lasting for almost a decade with Pastor Benjamin Dube?

Dennis Tau in love with Meiki
In love with Nthabiseng

Still on couples, Don't you guys think Muvhango's Meiki (Nthabiseng Mphahlele) and Lotto's Dennis Tau is a match made in millions? Makisto is of the opinion that you guys are a perfect match.

Dear Jub Jub and the media, which one of you is lying about drugs being the course of the accident that left four pupils dead? Was Jub Jub really on drugs or was the media just being the media trying to sell their papers?

Dear ANC and New Age, why do you keep on postponing the launch of your pro-ANC paper? Karima Brown, Makisto was really surprised that a hard-nosed journalist like yourself would really take editorship of New Age. I wrote that there is no way that paper could have editorial independence? Now you resigned...Makisto thinks you did a good thing!

Blaqueboi
AWOL: Blaqueboi is hard at work but What's the buzz?

Dear Blaqueboi, why are you so scarce on TVSA these days? Is your show What's the buzz? taking much of your time or is your website thing now on? Please do let us know when your website is up and running so we can check it out. Makisto can't wait to watch the first episode of your show on TV? If SABC is giving you the run around, why don't you approach Msanzi Channel? Did you forget gone are the days the showbiz only relied on SABC to air their shows?

Kuli and Clayton
How much does Kuli make in her T-Shirt business?

Hi Kuli Roberts, are your T-Shirts selling? How much in commission do you make per month? How do you manage to still be Sunday World assistant editor, host Headlines and spend quality time with your adorable kids and your new Black boyfriend and also flying to London to interview English schelbs for your show and also paying attention to I hate Kuli T-Shirts. Oh, I forgot, some tasks you can just delegate.

Debora Patta
Is Debora Patta turning her back on DA? Makisto thinks that's cool.

Hi there Debora Patta, it's good to see you now have a balanced view on your favourite political party the Democratic Alliance. Phela Makisto was suspicious about your alliance with the party and was plotting to turn up the heat on you? Makisto hopes you will be grilling Helen Zille in 3rd Degree Plus on Tuesday 16 November when you expose their party's stinking delivery.

Helen Zille
Show us achievements since 1994

While on Ms Zille, why didn't you keep the ANC out of your cover story with Destiny? Makisto would have loved to hear you talking about your achievements since 1994. Why didn't you comment on how a recent DA internal elections didn't vote for a Black leader and only posed a disappointed face for Destiny journalist about the outcome? Why don't we have a single Black MEC in the Western Cape? Don't you think you should lead by example?

Dear Gareth Cliff, please stop your whinning without offering suggestions on what could be solutions in your "rantings"? Is it true that you are a spoilt brat?

Hola ETV, please give us more local programming as we are sick and tired of your American shows? What on earth is The Planet's Funniest Animals still doing on our screens? Or is it true that you are exploiting Black producers?

Tonight

Good night Thandiwe Jumo of Tonight, was your story really your orginal story or is Makisto just letting his ego get the better of him? Makisto thinks only you, know the truth.

Sho sho Mfundi Vundla, please bring White and Indian actors on Generations? Or is it true that the show is racist?

Dear Mbazima Shilowa and Terror Lekota. Why don't you guys start a taxi business and stay away from politics? It's clear you guys can't cope with politics? That terror you subjecting each other to...

Dear IFP, please stop opposing Mangosuthu Buthelezi's leadership and focus on winning KZN local elections next year?

Justice Malala, do you vote each time SA goes on elections?

Tashi Tagg
No comment: Tashi Tagg

Hi Tashi Tagg, why is it that you hardly ever comment on articles written by yourself and other bloggers? Busy hey....

Dear agony uncle MaBlerh of Just Curious? Are you gay? Makisto is just wondering?

Bonang
Detractors will get 808 reasons why they should focus on themselves

Hi Bonang. You look beautiful and command great energy my love and jealous people are making stories about you and powder. Please give them 808 reasons why they should also persue their dreams and stop being silly.

Darling Sophie Ndaba, you and Tshepo Mashile make a wonderful couple. Makisto read about your new love interest in the Sunday World and I think it's about time. You deserve it darling. But, how old is Tshepo by the way? Just asking.

Sunday World
Sunday World journalists sell-out their editor

Dear Sunday World journalists, how much did fake mining millionaire Mandla Lamba pay one of you to report editorial content to him before printing? Now your editor Wally Mbhele is ruffling feathers and one of you will be jobless when the internal investigation is complete!

Yebo SABC 2 and Thokozani Nkosi. Where is Gospel Time? Does that show you air on Gospel Time slot attract equal ARs as Gospel Time did? Just disappointed that I cannot end my Sunday with Dr Ribs' halleluyas.

Lelo and Cece Ravele
Lelo is going places

Jus jus Brown Shugga aka Lelo Boyana. Are you a showbiz star? Makisto saw you making it on on some top 10 list in Headlines last week. It's good that your name is out there and we know what that means to the Lelo brand. You go girl! Phela Makisto kind of envies you.

Dear Drum magazine editor-in-chief, Esmarie Weideman, please instruct your editorial team to write a cover story on Nthabi and Dennis. Every body is sick and tired of you putting Generations stars on your cover virtually every week. Unlike Gareth Cliff, I complain and offer possible solutions.

Still on magazines. Why is it that magazines like Drum and Move! perpetuate racism in this country? Was is it really that necessary for Move! magazine not to have PJ Powers when they did their cover with Azania Ndoro and Zwai Bala who are Popostars judges? Did you leave out Powers because of the colour of her skin?

Why is it that we never have White people on Drum cover? True that Oubaas and Charmaine from 7de Laan will never sell your mag but surely actors like Michelle Botes, Robert Whitehead, Jammie Bartlet can sell your Black magazines. The ANC wants to tell you what to write about and you are crying out foul. Don't you want to embrace transformation and building a non-racial South Africa? Transformation is the word Black and White people!

Dear SABC 3, how many people are still watching 3Talk? Is the number over a million or less 300 000? If it's less than 300 000, Cheesa, you may consider changing your blog name my friend.

Tazteeq
TVSA blogger Tazteeq set to become the face of Markham

Heita daar Sobza and Tazteeq, if you guys become the final two in the Face of Markham competition and obviously one of you wins, will you share your winnings with each other like Idols finalists did? And something for me too?

Toedoet Toodecent, is the TVSA end year hook up coming together well? If things are giving you trouble, you can always charge a minimal fee like you did with the TVSA Winter Warmer.

Joelle is for lunch anytime baby
Treated with great care

Dear Joelle Kayembe...I had to think twice about this and decided not to write it because it has got to do with the whole gender thing and I didn't wanna be insensitive as my mother taught me to treat women with great care.

I don't think it's racism perse it's just business.
Move! could have still had PJ Powers on their cover with Azania and Zwai.

I have also never seen a black person in the cover of YOU but they do put them in their feature articles.
Wa yaka chomi. Not so long ag they had Sophie Ndaba, then a little later Hlubi mboya. Last year they had Caster Semenya.

He looks younger not that it matters anyway.
It doesn't matter at all but our human nature that's forever inquisitive wants to know. Sophie is baout 40 and that guy looks about 32 or 33 lol.

Makisto what happened with the Tonight story. We want to know what did the editor say or you decided to just leave it?
The Tonight story is in talks for now and will update when I had the feedback from Lara. She just returned from leave today.

Why are you scarce on TVSA these days?

LOl, well as much as I love tvsa and all of you guys, I do have a life to live and for me to sustain that life I need to work. Yes there are some projects that I am working on that are keeping me busy. Gotta pay the bills :)

Re: The Show

Eish Makisto, did you really have to go there. I don't wanna comment much on that. However I wanna inform you about this; In SA the politics in the entertainment industry are relentless. Most of the shows that you see on tv are commissioned by the channel and in most cases if not all, the channel owns the show. The bad thing about that is that the channel will then have the power to dictate to you about the content.

Take a show like Generations for instance, I know for a fact that there are some talented people on the show's production team who have brilliant ideas that can revive the show but unfortunately they can not just bring about changes unless the channel approves. Of course, as we all know that most of the people at the helm in these channels know nothing about the industry so they end up pushing their own agendas instead of serving their mandate to entertain the relevant audience.

It took me 8 years since I had my very first job in this industry mainly because I wanted to build a career and not just fame. Anyone can have a show these days but sadly most of them have no longevity. I on the other hand have learned from the mistakes of others. I am building a brand and until I am satisfied that my vision has potential to grow, I will take my time.

I want to own my ideas. I have a clear vision of where I want to be by the time I am 40. With that I will tread these waters cautiously. People do not become media moguls by selling off their ideas to corporate entities. If many of our black artists stopped chasing fame with no fortune maybe our industry would be having celebs with lifestyles that can back up their fame. Instead we have people who are just happy to be on tv while other people make millions behind the scenes off of their hard work.

I have had to put up pics of the shoots that we have made because I need to honour some agreements with photographers and other people involved in some of the shoots we do. Thus far that is the only information that is out there and I'd like to keep it that way until all the logistics have been ironed out and the premiere date is set.

Re: WEBSITE

Well the website is still in construction. It will be a multimedia website with streaming videos and such so we still working on that. Unfortunately having another website host your vids like having a channel on youtube is a pain in the butt. The success of every website is in its user-friendliness and as you know the internet in Mzansi is slow so one has to compress the vids to be as small as possible.

You can't have a 4gig 3min video and expect people who use vodacom moderms to be able to watch it. Now one has to edit, edit, edit and edit some more and hope that you do not loose the essence of the content.

Thanks for looking out for a brotha.

Much Love

Blaqueboi xoxo

@makitso - please inform us of the outcome of the Tonight story.
I just got a reply from the editor and lol, I'm kind of scared but I think I have a strong point. I will let the situation unfold then I will report on it later.

3rd Degree reporting on DA's open toilets in the Western Cape. I am not sure if Zille will be in studio but I would like to see her there. I remember the Juju interview lol

Tashi
16 Nov 2010 15:20

hehe!! Ja that's the thing Makisto, most of the time I don't know whether I'm coming going between writing, handling loads of info, liasing etc. By the end of a day I usually don't have any words left to say anything so I often enjoy chilling out and being entertained by reading articles over a late-night cuppa.

eish ask again Makisto, what have the DA achieved so far..

as for Mondays with Makisto--i like -i like...

makisto
17 Nov 2010 11:08

DA achieved so far..
Stinking service in the Western Cape

One and Only
17 Nov 2010 11:21

Makisto, my father's son

If the DA has only ruled +/- 2 years in the Western and has achieved nothing but stinking servce.

What's the name of the service provided by the ANC in the past 10yrs they have ruled not only in Western Cape but in South Africa?

Perfumed Service?

pele
17 Nov 2010 11:25

We have debated and agreed that ANC  is doing no better itself but this time we focusing on DA..one and only, for once lets's focus on them too.

makisto
17 Nov 2010 11:26

One and only? my father's son, all political parties are the same man. DA is blundering with the toilets and the ANC is just as bad when it comes to service delivery

makisto
17 Nov 2010 11:29

Yes true Pele, we have been bashing the ANC's poor service a million times and now we are turning up the heat on the DA because no political party is immune of criticism. We need to be balanced as far as news makers is concerned. Now the DA is a bigger story and we are focusing on them.

One and Only
17 Nov 2010 11:53

Where is the DA getting the funds to manage the province?

Large portion of these funds are supposed to be provided by the ANC? and the small portion from rent & rates.

Western Cape is not an independent state and relies heavily on the ANC government till then we cannot put much blame on the DA unless they make like that Whites Estate in Kimberley I think.
