Jub Jub was on The LKG show

On Soweto TV they have this show that is hosted by Lerato Kganyago called The LKG show. It plays every Saturdays at 20h00 pm. She always has a celeb guest that she interviews for the whole hour. The first guest on the show was Bonang Matheba. She has also interviewed people like Dj Sbu, Dineo Ranaka, Somizi, Mandoza, Juju etc.

This past Saturday she had Jub Jub as her guest and I stayed tuned to hear what he had to say about everything. Of course I was expecting him to talk about the accident, Kelly Khumalo and the drugs issue. The fact that the interview was his first TV interview after the accident made it very interesting to watch.

Well there is no structure ke on that show, Lerato Kganyago just asks whatever comes to her mind and she can repeat the same question more than twice which annoys me - coz she could be asking something else instead.

She asked Jub Jub about where he grew up and how long he has lived in Soweto and Naturena and how he feels about people calling him a cheese boy *rolls eyes*. He said it was not his fault that his parents have what they have and that he grew up the way he did.

He said he has also paid his dues because he started working on TV when he was young doing Ezimtoti etc. He said he has played his part in South African TV.

Lerato told Jub Jub that he still looks good even after the things he is going through, rubbing Jub Jub’s ego and making him more arrogant. He said “if you got it you got it babe”. He was charming Lerato ke shem during the interview and the girl was blushing all time hehehe! He even said so himself, that Lerato is blushing lol.

Believe me I was not interested in this though - I was very bored because they were not getting into what I wanted to hear about.

After a few not-so-interesting questions Lerato asked Jub Jub about him, Mama Jackie and Kelly Khumalo making headlines. I could see that Lerato was afraid to ask about the accident. She kept on saying "I know it's a sensitive issue but..." She then opted to begin by asking him about his mom and Kelly.

When Lerato mentioned Kelly’s name Jub Jub asked: “Who, who?” Lerato replied “Kelly Khumalo”. Jub Jub said well he’d rather talk about him and his mother “not the other person” coz it’s not important right now. I was like hell no I want you to talk about Kelly! Hau!

He then said a lot of things about Mama Jackie - how much of a good person she is, that she's friends with Oprah and how much he loves his mom. What I gathered from the whole thing he said is that Jub Jub believes that his family iyaloywa (being bewitched).

He said there are people who are out to get the Maarohanye family. Media 24 is rich out of his family name, the Maarohanye. First it was his mother now him all over Media 24’s publications.

He even said his mother’s case was also heard in the same court that his case is being heard. He asked why his case is always heard in the same court. Dunno whether the case is supposed to move all over these courts? He went on to say, that can only mean something.

He also said there must be some corruption with his case, asking why is his case taking so long. It's been going on since 2010 and it has so many witnesses against him.

He said if it was someone else’s case it would have been long done but because it’s Jub Jub’s it is still pending. Believe me I had a lot of “WTF moments” during this interview! Yoh Jub Jub is delusional bathong hayi ngeke!

I did say mos that Lerato can repeat the same question many times she likes? Well she asked Jub Jub again about Kelly and the accident. You remember mos that I said Jub Jub said he doesn’t wanna talk about the other person? Well he ended up talking about Kelly.

During the first 30-minutes of the show he had his shades on and laughed many times, pretending he was all okay. He didn’t show any remorse shem but suddenly he took off his shades, put them on the table and started acting all serious and sorry.

Lerato asked him how he felt during the accident and what was going through his mind. He said he also doesn’t know, that is what he also wants to know. I was like WTF Jub Jub? But he later said what he knows is that a part of him died during that day of the accident.

He started crying, acting all emotional and looking at the camera with tears in his eyes. I was like really, Jub Jub really who are you fooling? I even said those are crocodile tears because for him to completely change from the all-jolly Jub Jub he was during the first half hour of the interview to being all emotional instantly was just unbelievable!

He said he has never had a chance to meet with any of the families because he has been busy with this case and he was not given a chance to meet the families. He said he knows what the families are going through as a parent himself.

Lerato Kganyago asked him what he would say to the families if they were watching the show. He had a long moment of silence after this question then said: “I send my condolences to all the families. I didn’t plan to be there that day. What happened… it was God’s plan. I’d like to apologise for the accident that I did not plan.

"If any of them are watching… I was not allowed to bury any of the kids because I was still arrested at the time. All I wish is to put tombstones on all of them.

“I plead for their understanding… I’m a parent myself, so I can’t say I don’t understand what happened or how they feel.”

Sjoe I went WTF??? When he said the accident was “God’s plan”, like seriously you can’t even blame Satan for that accident where the perpetrators were under the influence of drugs and whatever!

When asked about Kelly and the things she has said about him in the media he said that if a person is being paid R30 000 or R50 000 to talk about Jub Jub obviously they will talk nonsense about him because other people have never seen that amount of money before.

He basically suggested that Kelly was paid to say the things she has said about him. He said the Kelly he met was a beautiful Kelly. He chose her to be his baby mama. He could have chosen anyone else even saying: “coz I mean you can also see babes I can get anyone to be my baby mama but I chose her,” he even made gestures while saying this.

You know those gestures zoba “yah I’m the man” yah those ones LOL! He said he could have many other babies out there but the one he has with Kelly is the special one.

He even said Kelly was pregnant during the time of the accident but she remained strong because she could have miscarried because of stress but the baby kept on kicking.

He said he can’t see his child coz he's restricted from doing so. Lerato asked is it because of the accident he said he doesn’t know.

They also talked about the music industry. Jub Jub said he does not give a f*ck about the music industry! The music industry does not pay his bills instead people bayaloyana in the music industry.

There’s a lot of jealousy. He said he does not owe the music industry any explanation. He only owes his loyal fans an explanation and they are going to get it soon.

Well Lerato then said they must talk about lighter things and Jub Jub suddenly changed from the emotional Jub Jub to the jolly Jub Jub, talking about his new protégé and all *yawn*.

Now my issue with the show is that, the show's producer should structure the interview and write down questions for Lerato Kganyago because it's clear the girl asks whatever that comes into her mind.

Sometimes I always notice that she struggles with what question to ask next. She takes a long time to think of the question. She also goes back to the same question she asked before many times.

I can see that she does sort of have an idea of how she wants the interviews to be structured like having a segment were she asks the person about their child hood and stuff, then the media reports, then about love etc.

But when she starts the show she asks the interviewee just about anything, forgetting that she will have to ask the person about  the same thing then say "okay we will go back to that",  which is what makes her repeat the same questions - and we get to hear the same answers when she could be asking about something else.

The only thing she should do is just ask follow up questions.

I must say though her repeating questions helped in this Jub Jub interview because he initially said he doesn't want to talk about Kelly but did when he was asked again lol.

The show is quite a good show I like it  but that is my only problem with it. They must write a set of questions for Lerato.

If you watched what did you think?

You can catch the repeat tonight at 22h00 pm on Soweto TV!

I've watched the show once or twice, and it's probably the best show on that channel. I watched when they interviewed Malema and I was laughing so hard. Otherwise with Jub Jub, nothing really interesting about him, but good article Cheesa

I watched the show a few times

Kante wasnt it a music show with interviews in between?
This one, I did not see 1 music vid, I did not watch it all, I stopped after hearing JJ say the accident was God's plan 0_o

Lerato, Killer legs!!

Please hire another content manager, the current one aint cutting it!
Or
Consider Cue cards, you wont look like an ametur(sp0 in our eyes, or else you will mess a show that has growth potential

My 2cents take it or leave: Ask them questions you know us (viewes) wants to answers to, stop tip toying around them. After all, you'd be doing your job
e.g. Lerato - "JJ, its time to set the record sttraight, are you on drugs?"
     JJ - "....."

Be fierce girl!

PSS: Please decide, music show or talk show

I have soft spot for Lerato shem, i watched the Mandoza show and i don't think she is that bad.  Did not watch Jub Jub's though but judging by tweets, people thought that he was high.  I feel sorry for him though and the parents who lost their children, he needs to apologise to his fans NOW and not wait for later.  He should not have talked about Kelly like that, he could have said...*she has the reasons to say what she has said about me, she is the mother of my child and I will respect her for that* and leave it at that.  Kelly who? was just childish...

my housemate finished me when she kept saying "usemuhle kodwa yazi" noLerato echarmeke ova, women mara..!@Cheesa did u notice the constant burping and awkardish body sounds/movement?we concluded its drugs settling in the system he took to make it through the interview.it got very disgusting at one point.

Eeeuww Cngle I noticed that burping! For sure it must have been that! Drugs working on his system. Hayi sheim he was definately not sober that day.

For him to even say Lerato's questions are making him burp! sies! What I also noticed is that he was trying hard to seem like he does not need Kelly and he does not want anything to do with her while its the opposite.

At first he wanted to give people this image that he doesn't care about her when he said hayi its she's not important right now but he then suddenly opened up about her talking about her and how strong she was when she was pregnant and how beautiful she was and all that. I think mna he needs in his life.

Jub Jub does not make it easy for the public to feel sorry for him because there is arrogance in between in him. He should have been like Mandoza. Mandoza was never so arrogant when he caused an accident that killed two men.

Even the families of those men forgave him and allowed him to help them with whatever amount of money he had to pay. Even the nation felt sorry him and he didnt get any hate because he humbled himself and owned up to his mass and showed remorse!

The way Lerato handled this interview was beyond brilliant, she needs to be on a mainstreem show, she is so cool and she is very objective. This was a difficult interview considering that the boy is way too arrogant and he was high too, yes i know high when i see it. She didn't ask him about Kelly the second time instead she asked him about love and he ended up opening up about Kelly, i found that very brilliant of Lerato. After last night I have a new found respect for Lerato shem.
