The J&B Met with 'ordinary folks'

So ne I was supposed to be at the J&B Met this past Saturday like it was mentioned. Yoh I almost didn’t go to the event due to some issues. In fact the whole J&B met weekend is the weekend I would like to forget about because it didn’t go well as it was planned. If it was for me I wouldn’t be even talking about it.

To me it’s like I didn’t go to the event but I did go - very late and at that time I was not feeling well at all. I was not in a good mood but I decided to go just to see if I can catch the last bits of the event.

When I got there I didn’t even know where to start looking for the media marquee I was supposed to be in and no one could give me the right directions. I don’t blame anyone though but myself because if I had arrived earlier things would have been easier.

So I went around looking to see if I can see anyone interesting and a vibey place around the stadium. There were still some people having fun around while others were leaving.

I can tell you now that I didn’t see any celebs at all not even one. I just saw your ordinary folks like me and you. I didn’t know the most random folks attend the J&B Met. Like, with some people it was like they were dragged from the lokishi to the event.

I don’t like “classing” ordinary folks about what they wear and stuff but seriously I didn’t expect to find people at the J&B Met wearing leggings, pumps, flip flops and all that.

I’m not talking about the most hideous outfits coz I believe those are part of the event but being dressed like you are going to the spaza shop while you’re going to the J&B Met is not on thle bathong not a good look at all.

It got me wondering if ordinary folks got in there for free or they bought tickets or something coz it seemed like people could just get in nje. But obviously they were not allowed access to the marquees as there was security at the mini gates.

Anyway there was also an after-party marquee at the stadium only folks with the after-party tag were allowed entry. Dunno what happened at that marquee but I saw a black dude being dragged out of the marquee by police and there was also a white dude in the mix.

I think the quarrel was between the black guy and the white dude. The police were sorting out the issue and me I decided to take some snaps of the action.

I took a couple of snaps and as I was busy with my camera I heard a police man tapping me on the shoulder telling me to delete the picture or else he will confiscate my camera.

I calmly stood next to him and showed him when I was deleting the picture. He didn’t know I took a couple of pictures so I had some left in the camera.

When I decided to leave there was some marquees that were still vibey. I must say some people were dressed so elegant I couldn’t stop starring. They were beautiful and made so much effort.

Ladies take the cake they were beautiful and very well dressed. But because most of us bought our dresses there were a lot of twins at the event. I saw a lot of YDE numbers. I was so glad I exchanged the dress I took the first time for another one because I saw it many times on different girls there.

You know with guys they have limited stuff and guys are afraid to explore fashion so they end up dressing up the same way. There were some hot dudes around though. I must say white guys know how to dress yoh.

They were so breathe taking I kept on showing my side kick the white dudes I was taken by.

I managed to take some pics of ordinary folks but some refused to be snapped shem. When I asked another girl to take a picture of her with her date - she grabbed her man and moved off.

It was like I’m Kuli Roberts for the day coz folks were running like celebs run from Kuli when she approaches them with her mic.

Anyway here’s what I got….

I like her dress but it turned out she was not the only one with this kind of dress...

...and then there was a blue one. There was also a girl wearing the same dress but in green. She was with these girls but the moment I approached them with my cam she ran off...*sigh*

For some reason this dude looks like a rugby player. I like their outfits.

And then there were those weird outfits. I so knew that I was gonna see someone wearing these Cape coloureds parade costumes that this man is wearing here. Not sure if they were together with this lady wearing lingerie. At some point I thought she was a guy.

I like the colour of their dresses. I think they look nice.

This curvey lady looked good too in red with her partner.

They look beautiful, I like!

Hehehe some people loved the cam. This dude on the left jumped in on this picture. We asked these three guys who were standing together to take a picture of them before I knew it they were four and we LOL'd tltltl.

Me and my side kick thought the guy with a dark pink shirt looks like DJ Sbu, what do you think?

They were happy to pose for us.

They were also happy to pose for us. These dudes were drunk AF! And wanted to take a pic with me and my side kick. My side kick refused lol

They look nice...

We thought these ladies are twins but nope!

I think I like the dress but she spoiled it with pumps...

These ladies were so happy to pose for us. The one on the right reminded me of Nombi of Velaphi, hayikabi....I honestly think she looks like her.

I like! Simple yet lovely.

This dude looks like someone I know am still trying to think who....

This dude in a white dress was a mess! Red wine all over him...

Me, my side kick with "the twins"

Sorry for anyway disappointment guys… Tashi will bring us celebs pics...

Hideous outfits. The fashion taste in our country is getting worse each passing day. People are just not interested in making an effort. If i was in charge half of the people in these pics would be turned back at the gate. ticket or no ticket.

Kwaaaaaaaaaaaa lol. You are a good journalist.

Oh, bloody bugger him, you should have refuswed Cheesa and when he conficstes your camera, you go the media and cause a major noise on media freedom. You should have shown him your media ticket. Tjooo, if it was me , these would have already been in the national papers. I can even see the headline right now

When I asked another girl to take a picture of her with her date - she grabbed her man and moved off.
