As we watch television shows we get impressed by the people who present these shows to us. We get to like the way they do the show, their humour, their personality and their originality. We’ve seen many presenters doing their thing in the past and loved their work.
I’m talking about people likes of Vinolia Mashego, Nimrod Nkosi, Zam Nkosi, Dosto Noge, etc. Now there’s a new generation that took over from these people and they are doing very well for themselves.
Now I present to you Mzantsi’s Best TV presenters in entertainment shows. I must say it was difficult putting it in numerical order because they’re all the best for me! Here they are…
5) Phat Joe
This man is back on our screens as the presenter of SABC1’s gossip show, The Real Goboza that plays every Saturdays at 18:00 pm. He is crazy as ever. He is known for his controversial comments that shock a lot people and keep them talking.
Phat Joe is one of few presenters that you can expect to say whatever on national television. He is not afraid of what people might say or think about him. He just enjoys keeping people talking.
Previously before being RGB presenter he was the presenter of his own TV show on SABC1 called The Phat Joe show that was previously playing on etv before he made controversial comments about Felicia Mabuza and etv’s executives.
Now he enjoys teasing our celebs on RGB and asking them naughty questions. Even though RGB is boring most of the time but Phat Joe makes it worth watching. His good looks add to that.
Now on Saturday 21 May 2011 he will be hosting the SAMAs with Bonang Matheba. I must say I love the combination. I think its perfect we are in for a treat.
I am so looking forward to it and to Phat Joe’s comments. He did say on LIVE that people must let him say what ever.
4) Sade Giliberti.
We’ve known Sade as the child star since her early ages when she was a presenter of the kids show YoTV for over 10 years. We grew up watching her presenting many shows on YoTV.
Many people love her tom boyish look and crazy self. When she decided to leave Yo-TV she got an offer when she was overseas to come down to SA to be the presenter of the popular dance competition show, So You Think You Can Dance.
She did exceptional work as the presenter of the two seasons of SYTYCD. When joining SYTYCD she had to lose her tom boyish look to be a lady. She dropped her baggy pants and sneakers for mini dresses and high heels.
This didn’t stop her from delivering awesome work. Sade’s personality makes people just fall in love with her.
3) Andile Ncube
This guy was a presenter of SABC1’s music show LIVE. He started presenting the show alone when it was still called ONE before he was joined by Bonang Matheba . Andile won hearts of many South Africans with his humble and respectful nature.
He is a good presenter that many people cried for when he left LIVE. Andile Ncube clicked with all his guests on the show and his interviewing skills were very good. He was not afraid to ask artists about stuff that viewers wanted to know more about.
His passion and knowledge of mostly SA music industry made people watch LIVE even more. It was not only that his handsomeness and fashion sense made a lot of ladies not to miss the show every Fridays.
When he stopped being the LIVE presenter he joined them behind the scenes. This consoled a lot of his fans as they knew that Andile’s touch was still on the show.
It was the last straw when he left the show completely that many people stated that the show will never be the same again after Andile’s departure as executive producer of LIVE.
Andile Ncube also MCed many shows and award shows like the SAMAs. He has a lot of contribution in the growth of South African music.
Right now he has joined SABC sport as their presenter. He is proving to be doing quite very well as we know him as a music show presenter. You can catch him every Mondays on Soccerzone at 21h00 pm and on weekends on Laduma.
2) Siyabonga Ngwekazi
This dude started as a presenter of SABC sport's basketball show, Slamdunk. After that he presented a lifestyle show that also played on SABC1 called Street Journal. Some people still want this show back.
Siyabonga Ngwekazi showed his unique presenting style in these shows and many viewers like his style of presenting that is mixed with something acting. His fashion sense also highlights his unique presenting style.
After Street Journal disappeared on our screens Siya Ngwekazi got other offers from other channels to be the presenter of their shows. He is the presenter on V-Entertainment. Right now he is the presenter of Vuzu's new celebrity lifestyle show Top Shayela that plays Wednesdays at 19h30 pm.
He is also one of the presenters who is loved by many South Africans. He has done many red carpet coverage for award ceremonies including the SAMAs and Metro FM awards.
1) Bonang Matheba
Everyone knows Bonang is the presenter of the popular SABC1 music show, LIVE that plays every Fridays at 21h00 pm. She started as a kids show presenter on SABC2. At the age of 19 she auditioned for LIVE when they were looking for a female presenter.
Since then she has grown to be the most loved female presenter in the country. She has received praises and continues to receive them. The legendary presenter herself Vinolia Mashego praised Bonang on SABC1's show Bakae when she was a guest there.
She said Bonang is the best presenter in the country right now. She reminds her of herself when she was a Jam Alley presenter.
Since joining LIVE Bonang Matheba has been the show's biggest asset. Her presenting skills are over the top. She makes the viewers listen when she's talking with that big voice of hers. She likes making these facial expressions to tease the viewers and make them stay glued to their TV set.
Bonang can present any type of show that's how good she is as a presenter. Since she started with LIVE she has presented in some other shows as well, like SABC1s sports show Vuvuzela during the world cup fever and on Kaizer Chiefs TV.
Recently she was sitting in for Phat Joe on The Real Goboza when he was on leave. She held it down very well. Many young presenters and upcoming presenters like to imitate her that's how influential she is.
Bonang has been an MC of many events and award ceremonies including the fashion awards and Metro FM music awards.
Now come Saturday the 21st of May 2011 she will be the co-host of South Africa's biggest music event, the South African Music Awards (SAMA) alongside RGB presenter, Phat Joe.
Here’s my list what’s yours? Who can you add here or take out and why? ;-) You can also tell us what you think makes a good presenter.
