Motswako: Primrose Speaks Out

Written by Cheesa from the blog Cheesa Chat on 14 Dec 2010

Did you watch Motswako last night? Well I did. They were talking about the Khanyi, Theunis and Primrose Crous love triangle. They were trying to understand how Primrose Crous stuck with her husband Theunis Crous after his cheating with Khanyi Mbau was all over papers. Well basically the show was about this to my understanding even though the teaser is slightly different.

Here it is:

We’ve come a long way, in the wrong direction, from women banding together and marching on the union building to protest pass laws.

The irony of the generation gap between women born during apartheid and those born into freedom is that women today are not free. The need for financial security has seen many women resorting to using their looks and not their brains to secure a husband, a career, a new car and live lavish lifestyles they have not earned.

Is this the future of women in South Africa? Depending on men for their finances and using themselves as bait?

Tonight Penny speaks to Primrose Crous who has taken back her husband Theunis Crous after he publicly admitted that he had an affair with Khanyi Mbau.

They were talking about whether Primrose is stupid or not. I think if that is what "For better or for worse" means hayi cha I don't know. Primrose really practiced "For better or for worse" in this Khanyi and Theunis madness shem. If this is what's called sticking by your vows then she really did it and their pastor would be proud of her.

Dr said Khanyi needs therapy. For her to understand why Khanyi is doing the things she does. She will have to sit down with her and understand how she grew up and all.

So what did you think?

I have absolutely no respect for Khanyi Mbau as a woman and as a mother... and i think that Theunis will still cheat on his wife *if he's not already*..... and i also think that Primrose would've left her husband if he wasn't rich. I guess money does buy love afterall

But muhle naye loPrimi shem, but she's has a naive way of looking at things

PS: I don't understand why people were making a fuss about Primrose's "engrish". She sounded fine to me considering the fact that, ja, she ain't white

GUYS, when does Motswako repeat??? I dont understand why people dont respect Primrose for her decision?? She is not the first/last, its just a pity her husband cheated with Khanyi Mbau and it was all over the papers... I support Primi, she must stick to her man, and hold on to her man..

I really don't know what to think about Prim (not that she cares). If "till death do us part" means that you have to stick by someone's side even if they hurt & embarass you then nna nka seke.

Looking at that house, I was also asking myself if Prim would have left if she was was cheated by a broke a** nigga.

"He did not say Primrose leave, it's over" *smh*

there are lot of woman out there who feel that prim is keeping up with the zhit, and yes she is but at the end she gets to keep her family together,
people are expecting her to grind her husband, because he also played a big part into the whole thang,
infact he is the one who went to propose Khanyi, but prim is supporting her husband i i respect her for not publicly saying wrong about her husband.

i somehow believe that when she is at home she does grind him about the issue but when she come out she protects her family.

we all know that when a kid does something wrong in public mom doesnt shout and screem inft of people, but when she gets home you'll pay the price.

@Cande, l also want to know when is the repeat.

l think Primrose did a great thing, money or not, if you love someone you try by all means to keep him/her. If l compare Primrose to Khanyi, l just wonder what Thenius saw in her that Prim doesn't have besides the slutness and ukuphapha kukaKhanyi. English or no English l love and support Primrose, she inspires me a lot.

@spineli,I dont think she would stay if cheated on by a nigga, she work hard rememebr hence she have more reason to stay in that marriage, from humble beggining,
obviously she cant just leave after all the hard work...good example is Robby mugabe, its not easy to let go of something you work hard for.especially if you still believe you can mend things again.
and she did.

Poor girl she is not really that articulate. She stuttered through out that whole interview. It didn't help that Penny was taking sides in the interview. Don't you just hate it when hosts always wanna be nice to the person they interviewing and not so nice to the other party she is not sitting next to them? Judging from that interview, I think if Penny were to have Khanyi on camera she would be finding positive things to say about her and negative to say about Prim. Your job as a host is not to put your own views on to the interview.

Even in the video where Blaqueboi asks Prim about being happy at the Feathers on youtube she responded like she didn't know what happy means. What's her academic background?

14 Dec 2010 11:31

Before I read all your comments, as a man who believes in monogamy, I applaud Primrose for sticking with her man. Last night on TV I saw a woman committed to her marriage regardless of the storms of life. I think she is a perfect example of what for better or for worse means.

She has earned my respect and I was really emotional when she spoke. Her pastor indeed must be proud of her. She did well by not doing what everybody was saying she should so which is to leave her man. Primrose is a woman who understans what marriage vows means and applies them not only in good times but in bad times. The Move! magazine once ran a story that said: Prayer saved my marriage whereby Primrose says with all the drama, she turned to God.

I am full of or praise for Primrose because she is a star and fights for her man and marriage. There are a few women like her. We need to celebrate people like her with similar stories instead of being fed the Khanyi Mbau sh*t (Excuse my French). Primrose is a star, has earned respect and is a good role model to her children!

i personally think Khanyi needs serious therapy because not even bo Paris Hilton behave the way she does.

my friend like saying that if those that i aware that they wont be long in this world, do everything to the fullest.

Cheesa
14 Dec 2010 11:33

Hayi shem mna I don't know what to think of Primrose because sometimes I think she is stupid for sticking with that man who hurt and humiliated her in public. Who did not even hide the affair with Khanyi. And gladly posed for cameras with Khanyi Mbau knowing that his wife is going to see all this in papers and magz. Sometimes I think she did the right thing by fighting for what she believes is hers looking back where she started with this man to leave him now. She is really strong shem I don't think many women can deal with what Primrose had to deal with worse it was a public thing that was seen by the whole of South Africa. Mandla's wife couldn't take it.

I was like tjo when Penny said why did you went up on stage with "that man" when he went there to accept the award for Drama Queen of the year knowing it was all because of what he did with Khanyi.

And yoh Primrose told Penny "it's not that man he is my husband", tjo I was like, Primrose means business she really loves this man if that is love. And I didn't understand why Penny showed that she's judging her when she asked that question. I think as the presenter of the show she could have asked that question without showing that she's judging her by saying "that man".

Dr Luck is an American, I think Motswako repeats at 12h00 pm. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.

I hear  your very well Maki

Motswako said they tried to get Khanyi for comment but she didn't want to. I was surprised which Khanyi they're talking about, the very same one who can do whatever for people to see her on TV. Maybe she is close to change who knows.

I agree with you Cheesa Primrose is just too much the man humiliated her in public the man used their money to buy things for Khanyi in public the man does not care about his children the man is like those man who says I provide you with money why do you complain. Primrose claims to be happy she is not. I think there's a lot in that big house that we don't know about. And I don't think it's about her wanting to save her marriage I think it's about the devil called money and abuse. To me Primrose and that girl of Rhythm City( Ngozi blah blah blah ) are the same

14 Dec 2010 11:45

Poor girl she is not really that articulate. She stuttered through out that whole interview.
This is not true, she didn't stutter. It is just that she can't speak fast like Khanyi does. As someone myself as Makisto who has a stutter that God chose to bless me with, I don't take kindly to you suggesting Primrose has a stutter because I didn't hear her saying Kh-kh-kh-kh-kh-kh-kh-kh, she just said Khanyi. Primrose is articulate, presents herself well. You could have said she cannot present a TV show. I don't see why you have to marvel at this decoupage. This is the same as making fun of a blind person. Where is human dignity in that. Anyway, that's shallow-headed Black people for you (Pun intended because the bold-ed phrase is offensive to me as a stutterer).

If you have one leg, you wouldn't want people to remind you and possibly making fun of that. Leave Primrose's stutter alone toe!!!!!!

Your job as a host is not to put your own views on to the interview.
True decoupage, I also felt that Penny was on Khanyi's side though Prim is the agrieved party!

What's her academic background?
Once again deco, one's academic background has nothing to do with standig by their man. I know of many women, who are rich for that matter, who chose to forgive their cheating husbands because they believe in for bad or for worse and want to keep their families together.

Theunis is now busy with Tatiana hence they say Tati is trying to relocate to SA
Hey Minah, give us the full story pleae. Is this another Theunis scandal?

Hayi, people are hypocrites, finish and klaar. You would be suprised, actually I wont be surprised to hear that 7/10 of the people who are singing " Primrose leave him" are the very same people who have forgiven their boyfriend/husbands after they cheated on them countless times. Some of them are still being cheated on to date and they are still in those marriages/relationships even though their hubbies/boyfriends are not milionares like Crous. It is so easy to just sit and judge other people for the very same thing that you are doing. SMH

14 Dec 2010 11:47

@ Makisto, are you nuts? If it was vice versa will you still say for better  or worse?

One thing for sure that they must take out when doing marriage vows is the following:
Till death do us part (ask Mathata Tsedu, he lost his son because of till death do us part. Some take it literally)

For better or worse

The reason they are still together is because of the contract, no one wants to lose.

Moat women stay in abusive relationships in this case financial  because of reasons that just does not make sense to some of us because we are not in their shoes.  It's easy for us to say that she is just being stupid for staying in that marriage.  You know the cliche mos, things are easier said than done.

14 Dec 2010 11:56

Makisto, I am disappointed in you man. i thought you of all people would read the context before replying. The stutter in that sentence is figurative as in she was incohessive in her answers. I did not mean she literaly stutters because everybody knows she doesn't stutter. Often she went on a rant without even answering the question asked.  This had nothing to do with Khanyi vs Prim, I am not a Khanyi fan.

14 Dec 2010 11:56

@ Makisto, are you nuts? If it was vice versa will you still say for better or worse?
Realist
, this situation will take us back to the unfair of society because there is some kind of unwritten rule that if a man cheats, you can forgive him if you want and if the wife cheats, you must leave her immediately. Let's leave it for another day Realist. The society we live in creates practices and rules that are unjust!

14 Dec 2010 11:58

BTW I asked about her academic background not based on her man. I asked because her command of the english language was a bit offish. Again this is not a comparison between her and Khanyi nor is it to imply that she is not intelingent. I know some of you might jump to that conclusion.

Makisto, I am disappointed in you man. i thought you of all people would read the context before replying. The stutter in that sentence is figurative as in she was incohessive in her answers.
You can be diappointed or happy, I don't care! The point is, you should have made it clear that she is incoherent instead of saying she stutters. Ever heard of semantics? Why use figurative words in a clear and simple debate? I refuse to believe you intended to mean she is incoherent! There is nothing in that comment that gives a hint that you are figurative.

As much as we are bloggers, we need to be mindful of the fact that we are human beings created different by God. If someone is blind or stutters an the other isn't and is deemed perfect by society, it doesn't give them any democratic right whatsoever to make fun of those deemed otherwise because anyone can loose their speech within the wink of an eye and anyone can lose their eyes within within the wink of an eye.

But deco, English isn't her first language. Even those with English degrees surely make grammatical errors every once in a while and not that they don't know the correct grammar but it just happens. Makisto I dont give a damn too that you stutter but that does not give you ownership to the rights to use the STUTTER in anyway I choose. Everybody who saw the interview and who has seen her in other interviews know that she doesn't stutter so they got what that statement meant. If you didn't that's your problem not mine.

But deco, English isn't her first language. Even those with English degrees surely make grammatical errors every once in a while and not that they don't know the correct grammar but it just happens. Especially if one isn't a radio or TV presenter. If we are really going to speak of the English language command, can we look at your small letter in that (e)nglish?

Articulation has nothing to do with grammar. My asking about her academics is based on her articulation and the way she phrased her answers. Fact is a certain level of education makes one think and respond differently to someone who doesn't have the same academic level.

I am not gonna debate with you for the sake of debating or get into a tussle for silly things. Anybody with half a brain got what my comment was about. You just twisted it into something it's not and now you turn it in an ENGLISH debate.

but anyway angifuni ukingena.

we're too harsh on our own people sometimes when they can't express themselves especially in English, slave mentality.

I was in the US for a month and i was so embarrassed when they asked one of the ladies I was with if she grew in the states or not because of her accent.

if the tatiana story is true dat means crous o rata basadi who speak engrish, is he afrikaans by the way or mayb their command of the english language does not even bother him at all well except for twanging Khanyi

LOL thatha khumbulekhaya uthi uKhanyi is a juvenile of jezebels kwaaaaa!! Ewe it is true that there are many women who are suffering what Primrose went true but i'ts just that hers was public.

Almost everyone knew about it even though she is not a famous person. So people expected her to just leave that man because this was public. Some people thought she was stupid by sticking with Theunis after everyone knows and saw  what he did to her.

I was also thinking it might be money but Primrose says mos they made the money that they have together. So it's something more than or maybe she doesn't want any  woman to just come and enjoy her husband's reaches after she sweat with him when making them.

Back to the topic: the humiliation was just too much. Sometimes men/women cheat but because this person still love you they try hard to hide their escapades. It's like someone bringing a girlfriend home and cooking for your husband while you wena you are chilling watching tv on the couch. There is a difference here, many women forgive their husbands yes but it's the tact that also is a factor on how you tried to protect me from your selfish actions. It just shows a bit of caring for my feelings

tumz
14 Dec 2010 15:34

i am amazed that much of the focus is on the two women and who was wrong or right. it seems the common denominator is being sidelines, as though he was right in all his actions.

i believe as a man, he should be held accountable for all that transpired. if it werent for him, approaching, i presume, or warming to approaches, whichever it may have been, none of this would have happened. i dont believe he deserves Prim. And i dont see why she stayed.

its amazing that society, as i observe, tends to blame wives, should there be a problem, or infidelity in a relationship. hardly ever would the man be seen as the wrongdoer. sad, for our sisters and mothers.

Prim made her decision, and we shall respect that, however, honestly the man didnt deserve it, after all he put her through!!!

14 Dec 2010 15:44

@tumz I think women are not selfish, whenever there is decision to be made they will consider the feelings of other first before thinking about their. eg they will always put thier children, their parents etc and tend to forget about themselves!!!! so it is never easy for them to just let go ! like what Prim said about being "a wife and a mom"

When a women finally leaves/walks out - the men must have really messed up or she has been patient for to long.."when a women is Fed up"......

I still say society promotes what men are doing I think Crous is doing what Khanyi is doing and now the blame is on Khanyi and everyone thinks Prim is a good wife.
Bull Bull Bull Prim is as stupid as Khanyi and Crous they are the same sis ba rata chelete and Prim found Crous rich she did not build businesses with Crous she found Crous rich. I real woman does not tolerate this,a real woman will not accept this , a real woman will stand TALL AND SAY I CAN WITH OR WITHOUT CROUS I CAN.
I reall woman will walkaway and make Crous pay for child support and make him pay for the emmotions he has caused. No woman will want to raise children in a drumer home. Soon Crous will do it with Bonang after Bonang it will be my 16 year old sister then blah blah blah. Primrose Primrose if we say Khanyi is misleading the youth and what about Prim she is also saying HEY YOUTH IF HE IS RICH HANG IN THERE SLEEP ALONE AT NIGHT HE WILL COME BACK AFTER MONTHS OF TOUCHER bull Primmy. And yes there are some who forgive thier partners who are here on the blog with us but hey we don't know we are going to comment and leave our dirty linens at home unfortunately we know about this love tree ya ntate Crous

SHo Minah God did not create marraige for suffering but for joy. And maybe Prim should be saying God is proud of her instead of the pastor because a pastor is also a human being why should she live her life to please him. She pleased God, but I hope she is happy in everything she puts her mind to. Crous does not deserve her I hope one day she realises that and someone else will sweep her off her feet. And stop blaming perseKhanyi la, Khanyi was not the one who was married.

Last night on TV I saw a woman committed to her marriage regardless of the storms of life. I think she is a perfect example of what for better or for worse means.

@Makisto..I beg to differ with you my brother. That is not a true commitment at all..just that the idea of going back to Welkom did not go down well, that's why she just tolerated that *bleep!* from old white grandpa(WHITE HEADACHE POWDER).Why does it always have to be women taking that kind of *bleep!* from men e.g Theunis??? Primrose stuck in that marriage just for money nothing else. She was working in a botique so the thought of earning R4000 per month was n ot a god one to her anymore hence she did not leave Theunis. In my opinion Primrose is just  platinum digger as much as Khanyi is.Theunis is old enough to be his grandpa.

As for her(Primrose) fluency in queen's language the less said will be better.I did realise that she cannot speak fluently and sound too rural.

Peaple are begging Primi to get along with her sis but she is not having it with fear that her horny ass mlungu will bonk her sis and amshiye. Hayi wethu, une issues uPrim and must stop hinding behing God. She shall be punished for that.

@Lejazz, I will not comment on her coming from rural areas or wherever and her salary, but I like your comment above. It is the kind of norms that society creates. Society deems it right that a man can cheat and it is ok for his wife to take him back but if it's his wife that cheats, society created an unwritten rule that she must be chased away immediately. This whole thing of a woman forgiving a cheating husband is a dissertation on its own and society kind of makes it right that a man be forgiven and a woman not forgiven. To make matters worse, it women who put pressure on the man to leave the cheating wife.

If Primrose has decided to forgive her husband that's her and only her decision alone, she's the only one who know the rationale behind it.

The way people are going on and on about this you would swear they are her next of kin of something similar.

Some of you have never been in a relationship, some don't even know what a relationship is, some had more than 20 failed relationships, some had been cheated on more than trillion times, some are beaten up daily by their partners but yet they are quick to pass judgement.

Can we cease discussing people and discuss issues at hand going forward?

marriage , relationship, two different things, if you will leave your husband because he cheated you a not a wife . umfazi- if i can enterprete this word directly, ufa wazi. i dont want to judge prim, izilingo ziningi emhlabeni and they come in different ways. the only time i woud divorse my husband is when i stopped loving him not because he cheated. i have to give credit to Prim ,she a strong woman stronger than i.
