We speculated on who the judges would be on
Twitter and now the final decision has been made. The judges for the first season of The X Factor South Africa have been confirmed.
All of them are musicians. (No-one who's a DJ-only for once thankfully!)
They are *drum beat* ...
Judge 1: Singer, songwriter and producer Zonke.
Judge 2: Singer, songwriter and former Springbok Nude Girl Arno Carstens
Judge 3: Oskido: producer, performer, radio presenter and entrepreneur who started Kalawa Records (later Kalawa Jazzmee).
The threesome will be The Deciding Factors when the season starts on SABC1 on Saturday, 6 September. The season runs for 15 weeks and a group or singer will win the show at the finale on 13 December. The prize: a Sony Music Entertainment recording contract and a cash prize of R300 000.
As you probably know, the first round of auditions have already happened round the country. Hopefuls sang (or at least tried to sing) for a panel of production judges who decided whether or not they were good (or bad) enough to see the actual judges.
Now it's onto the next phase of auditions in front of the judges. As
we reported previously, Andile Ncube will be hosting and the series will be filled in Durban which is gaining ever-increasing steam as being the place to film TV.
So what'd do you think of the judges line-up? Our first impression: very unexpected. What's yours?
