Idols SA: Drudges for judges

I was looking forward to watching the new season of 'South African Idols'.  Unfortunately the first episode didn't do much for talent. However, I was absolutely shocked by the behaviour of the two arrogant, uncouth, nasty judges Randall and Gareth who ridiculed the contestants.

Unathi has my deepest sympathy having to work with them (I'm sure it puts her in a very uncomfortable position).   I can't think why these two were employed again, as they were just as irritating  during previous seasons.  I cringe to think what Idol judges from the UK or America would think of their behaviour.  I suppose the only ones who think they're funny would be themselves!!!!

LOL i agree most of the contestants were hillarious like the "handover" guy kwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I also think that the way Gareth and Randal behave is part of the entertainment element of the show hence they havent been removed. I like them but Randal tearing the ticket to Sun City in that poor girl's face what uncalled for and mean! He could have just said no hawu!

Hunnybun sana,
Randal was the worste charector  ever, to tear a ticket like tht infront of tht 18yrs old gal was uncalled for and very unproffessionall, i thnk they are just horrible judges, Randall i dont feel any love for him,, i  heard tht he is gay but most of my gay frnd are more kind than him,,
we are just watching Idols just for the sake of loving the show otherwise they were too boring yesterday,, Unathi also she is soo dramatic always crying namafinyela wakhe on tv with big lips its very unproffessional.

Unathi is boring yena shame even when the competition starts getting serious her feedback is never constructive.

Randall tearing the ticket to Sun City like that was uncalled for & arrogant and I think that girl could sing they should have given her the opportunity to sing a popular song.

Other comments & laughter I don't mind I take it as part of entertainment bcoz I'm also laughing on my coach on those performances.

Ugh! That was a very disappointing first episode, because they focused too much on the wooden mic contestants than the people who actually made it through. It's supposed to be a singing competition, not a comedy show! They should atleast show everyone who made it through. Also, why are there so many adbreaks!? Usually they only show one or two contestants and then it's another adbreak. This show really needs some help and new judges, or it'll end up just as last season.

@Darren24 speaking of the last season i think they ddnt create much hype around Musa as they did with Khaya, i find that DSTV ad that announces Khaya as the Idols very weird.

Yeah, even the "where are they now" section they did with Musa wasn't really selling his success. He said that he is currently touring to promote his album, but most people don't even know about the album. Even Zoe is more on TV than he is...

Darren24,, sana i only listen to Musa single here at wrk on kfm station only(white station people) ,, only few people knw him, but Khaya Mtethwa is all over,  even Clash of the choirs they are still calling his name, i thnk ihamba nokuthi wht type of brand ,if u are a pnp no name brand the advertisers they wont advertise your work, but if u are Well knw brand advertising agencies can sell you like hot cakes,,,

i am worried abt Musa, even on his Home town abantu abamazi bazi laabhuti wase tv wayesoloko esithi Thank u, Thank u Thank... they dont hear his music.. funny enough Metro can play Lloyd Cele music and talk abt him but Musa dololo.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAA QQndigqibelani "laabhuti wase tv wayesoloko esithi Thank u, Thank u Thank"

But i think its up to the promoters to create the hype, they organised a lot of gigs for Khaya after Idols i.e COTC, perfomances on influencial platforms thats what kept his name buzzing. Musa dololo nyani to make things worse they advertise for Idols season 10 even before his album was out *claps. And he is talented u Musa shame

Hunnybun my love, I think the first episode went quite well and there was entertainment galore. Imagine if all the judges were like Unathi
Randall for me is one of those judges we love to hate because he likes the contestants wa bona

I think they are a great team and they are all different which makes the show great to watch. Remember as much as this is a reality show, it still has to be topical entertaining. You would not be writing this if all the judges were sweet, angithi. It's good that we as viewers at home disagree with the judges but that's what makes the show interesting hey. As for me, I am happy with the new season
