Hott rumour: SA versions of The Voice, Amazing Race on the way

There are all sorts of hott rumours doing gossville that there's a Voice SA or local Amazing Race on the way. The whisperings have been whirling for the past six weeks or so, with chatter that they'll be produced by M-Net as the channel's next big reality blitz.

I heard the rumours and then, during Monday's DStv Upfronts, M-Net CEO Yolisa Phahle made it clear that they're looking for their next big thing so it's clear that they're looking to do something new.

My guess is that they're planning to pause/retire Idols after Season 10 and want another musical reality show to take it's place. The Voice would be ideal because it would appeal to professional musicians too which means there's all-new fodder when it comes to contestants. You might even find winners of other reality shows enter because of the status The Voice has. It's probably against the rules but I'm sure it would happen if it was allowed.

As for Amazing Race ... it would probably be a replacement to Survivor SA. It's very expensive though so it would be a big deal if they did it. It would be very popular entry-wise - tons of people will want to enter. Whenever I ask anyone which reality show they'd most like to be on, they always say TAR.

What other reality shows would be a better choice than these two? ... I can't think of any so I bet my TV that the rumour's are true.

Shows in this post: The Voice, The Amazing Race, Idols

Big up to MNET for heeding the call of the masses! I can't wait for The Amazing Race SA- TARSA would be a nice reality show, provided it's not the never- ending story that was Survivor SA.LOL. I would like to see Scare Tactics SA; Killer Karaoke SA; What would you do SA?; another round of The Apprentice SA and Million Rand Money Drop( only contestants must actually win some money this time round!).
