A look at the premieres coming up on Animal Planet this month:
Press Release
Monster Month
Monsters really do exist this month on Animal Planet – and the first terrifying creature to be feared is the blood-sucking lamprey in ‘Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys’. After chomping through the fish population, thousands of starved lampreys begin attacking the citizens of a sleepy lake town, and the community scrambles to stay alive.
There’s ‘Man-Eating Zombie Cats’, where an incurable zombie-like pathogen is spreading fast, turning big cats around the world into fearless man killers. In 1959, nine Russian students went deep into the Ural Mountains; a few weeks later their mutilated, semi-naked bodies were found.
What could have caused this? Some believe it can only be attributed to the ‘Russian Yeti’. Plus, countdown the ‘Ten Deadliest Snakes’ from around the globe.

Call of the Wildman 3/ Premiere
When the people of Kentucky have a critter problem they can't handle, they know to call Ernie Brown Jr, also known as Turtleman. Armed with only his bare hands and backwoods intuition, Turtleman and his team can catch the strangest and most dangerous of animals.
From wandering peacocks to fierce bobcats, from rat infestations to overgrown pythons on the prowl, no nuisance call is too treacherous - or too far away. In this new series, Ernie finds something has been devouring the fish supply, there’s a vicious beast terrorising horses on a farm and a critter that’s picking off goats one-by-one.
Premieres Thursday 2 October at 21:00
Village Vets / Premiere
Brand new series ‘Village Vets’ follows the exploits of James and Anthony, who have been friends since their first day of university. Now they are both vets, co-running a practice in a small rural Australian town where their patients go from the usual cats, dogs and horses to pythons, bearded dragons and alpacas.
And the cast of owners, from former male strippers to hardened bushmen, are just as diverse. With animals and the extraordinary practice at the heart of the series, ‘Village Vets’ is also a show about the way of life in an Australian country town, the people who live there and most importantly relationships – between owners and animals, people in a small community and most of all, between two really good friends.
Premieres Tuesday 7 October at 19:10
Bad Dog / Premiere
Find out just how far some animals can push their owners and still retain their affections, as 'Bad Dog' travels the globe in search of the naughtiest pets on the planet.
From cunning cats and destructive dogs to rampaging rodents and bad mouthed birds, not to mention a whole hoard of wily pets and big beasts determined to wreak havoc, man’s best friends are caught on camera acting like our worst enemies.
This series includes a dog that gets on the kitchen counter and into a toaster oven, a cat that plays the piano and a parrot that has a habit of rapping and swearing. But which crafty critter or furry fiend will be crowned ‘Baddest of the Bad’?
