Top 3 song choices
Third Time's a Charm

It’s not just been all fun and games and visits to Big Ben for the Idols Season 10 Top 4 in London this week - they also had to work extra hard on their performances for this Sunday’s Top 3 Spectacular, because after saying goodbye to the fourth contestant the remaining three prospective Idols will each have to perform three numbers this week.

In the First Round category the Idols had to select a hit from the year they were born, and Nelspruit’s Bongi Silinda (24) chose Phil Collins’s 1990 hit, “Another Day in Paradise”.

Lize Mynhardt (21) from Stellenbosch was born three years later so she’s going with the big 1993 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” from the Scottish one-hit-wonders The Proclaimers.

24-year-old London Louw chose another massive hit from a female icon, Sinéad O’ Connor’s “Nothing Compares To U”, from 1990. And Vincent Bones is going for a romantic mood with Lionel Richie’s “Stuck On You”, from the year he was born, 1984.

The theme for the second round this Sunday is the contestants’ own personal favourites, and Bongi chose the Drake hit “Find Your Love”.

Lize is going with the Leonard Cohen standard “Hallelujah”, London goes uptempo with The Darkness’s “I Believe in a Thing Called Love”, and Vincent chose a contemporary hit from newcomer Sam Smith, “Stay With Me”.

And for the final round the contestants had to prepare a song chosen for them by the Idols producers. Bongi drew Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful”, for Lize they chose the Kanye hit “Church In The Wild”, London got Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, and Vincent has to prepare the John Legend ballad, “You & I (Nobody In The World)”.

Fans can also look forward to live guest performances from supergroup Mi Casa and one of the most popular Idols winners ever, Season 6 Idol Elvis Blue.

Tickets for the show are on sale now from Computicket and the Top 3 Spectacular goes out live on M-Net and Mzanzi Magic on Sunday, 9 November, at 17:00.
