Talk about bombing!
The legacy of Generations is fading fast as viewers tune out by their millions. Literally.
Viewership has plunged to crazy lows following its
non-eventful return on Monday, 1 December. After its first week on air - from Monday, 1 December to Monday, 8 December - it lost a whopping 2.5 million viewers. It recovered somewhat the Tuesday after but not in any meaningful way.
The viewership figures for the week:
Date |
Average viewership |
Monday, 1 December 2014 |
7 527 850 |
Tuesday, 2 December 2014 |
6 522 833 |
Wednesday, 3 December 2014 |
6 142 287 |
Thursday, 4 December 2014 |
5 372 319 |
Friday, 5 December 2014 |
4 096 382 |
Monday, 8 December 2014 |
5 015 207 |
Tuesday, 9 December 2014 |
5 810 499 |
This explosive dive in audience is unprecedented and is clearly a sign of the unhappiness and anger that many viewers are feeling towards the show.
There's been an extensively negative response to the show on social media too and the noise is converting to numbers. People are speaking with their phones, computers and remote controls and the message is very clear.
Millions of Generations fans don't like The Legacy.
