Generations: Getty's bird poo

When Germany won the World Cup, they didn’t just win in soccer. They won the battle of the hair too, Brazilian weave vs German haircut. So it wasn’t a surprise to see Nandi Ngoma grace the covers of magazines for her natural hair. Indeed, 2014 was the year when black women dyed their afros: blond, purple etc. to embrace their authenticity.

So, it was no surprise to see Generations bringing in women with natural hair, like the likes of Tshidi with dreadlocks, Manaka Ranaka with her plaited afro and her daughter who recently cut it all off.

There is one woman, who started off great with her natural hair and then recently lost the plot. I know the poor woman is told to wear this and have her hair like this. Surely when you are an actress and you see people mocking you, you can still stand up for your character.

How on earth does one hold an afro pony tail on the forehead? Any ponytail? Or is it some sort of new hairdo that I missed? Because the only time a woman should have a fake pony tail afro on her forehead should be on her funeral. Or when your hair burnt the previous night or a bird pooed on you so bad its unfixable.

So Getty, my dear, on behalf of all the women that embrace their natural hair, please get rid of your bird poo forehead.

Sincerely
The Soapiepolice.
