Press Release
Top 4 Song Choices
Old School/New School
Idols judge Randall Abrahams has been lecturing the Idols SA Season 10 contestants for weeks now about versatility, and this week will reveal if his words have had any effect when the Top 4 perform “Old School” hits in the first round of their performances at Pretoria’s State Theatre this Sunday [2 November], followed by “New School” songs in the second round.
In the first round Nelspruit’s Bongi Silinda (24) plans to perform the Brenda Fassie hit “Too Late For Mama”, Durban’s Kyle Deutschmann (27) chose Zahara’s “Loliwe”, Lize Mynhardt (21) from Stellenbosch is going with Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”, Cape Town’s London Louw (24) is preparing Tina Turner’s “It”, and Pietermaritzburg worship leader Vincent Bones (29) chose “Sondela” by Ringo Madlingozi.
For “New School” Bongi chose Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down” in the second round, Kyle selected Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”, Lize is going with the Michael Bublé hit “Feeling Good”, London chose Duffy’s “Mercy”, and Vincent will be turning up the heat with Usher’s “Climax”.
The Top 5 are rehearsing their songs under the musical mentorship of R&B and House singer Bucie this week, but of course only four of them will get to perform on Sunday, after one more Idol will be sent home at the top of the show.
Tickets for the show are on sale now from Computicket and the Top 4 Spectacular goes out live on M-Net and Mzanzi Magic on Sunday, 2 November, at 17:00. Fans can also look forward to guest performances by Bucie and by and Season 5 Top 10 Idol Daniel Baron.
