Monday nights are going to be hott on Fox in February when The Walking Dead returns. It's returning for Part 2 of Season 5 on Monday, 9 February and it's bringing added gore and horror delight.
The Strain will be starting just before and it's the purrfect lead in to Walking Dead. The Strain which has
the most gruesome poster I've seen:
It's a drama/horror about an out-of-control disease that attacks it's victims physically. It devours their souls and turns them into horrific beings - who we've seen throughout the ages.
There's lots of trippy symbolism that runs through things which gives it added dimensions. For instance, one of the main villains is a former Nazi commander and one of the lead heroes is a Holocaust survivor which creates a metaphor for The Strain - the disease that causes so many people to turn Evil in the strictest sense of the word.
Besides the cool story, it has a sense of humour and it's very well filmed too - looks like a movie. It's packed with special effects and carnage, particularly when a victim gets attacked by a Strigoi (mutated vampire):
It's going air on Fox at 20h30 on Mondays and Walking Dead will follow at 21h20 so it's a classic horror fest. Here's a trailer - followed by one for Walking Dead ...
