SABC2’s long running Afrikaans magazine programme, Pasella makes its TV comeback on Friday 13
th February 2015.
The new format will be a 30-minute broadcast at 18:00 and the show will continue to bring viewers up close and personal with local celebrities, as well as exploring SA tourism gems with food, lifestyle, the people and décor highlighted in the series.
The channel is also pleased to welcome hip hop artist and producer, Simon Witbooi known by his followers as “Hemel Besem” as he joins the Pasella presenting team. Hemel Besem has performed at several popular musical festivals such as KKNK and Aardklop.
Other presenters returning as hosts of the new season are the long serving presenter Paul Rothman, model and former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam, actress Crystal-Donna Roberts, model and former Mr South Africa Dieter Voigt and Lynelle Kennedy who was a finalist in the My Top Billing Dream presenter search competition in 2012.

Episode 1: 13 February 2015
We learn about the Bainskloofpas history, chat to Tim Theron, Heinz Winckler and Milan Murray from the film Mooirivier. Paul and Crystal Donna celebrate Valentine’s Day by cooking a romantic dinner and setting the table. We visit Langkloof Roses to learn about different varieties of roses and Dieter goes on the Sundays River Cruise in the Eastern Cape
Episode 2: 20 February 2015
We visit the West Coast where Melinda and Hemel Besem find out about quirky beach stories in Yzerfontein. Elements of the West Coast and the pantone colour of 2015, Marsala, are highlighted in in the table décor and food by local chef Bastiaan van der Merwe. We play a round of volleyball with Expresso presenter Leigh-Anne Williams and also chat to adventurer Riaan Manser about his participation in the Snow Epic.
Episode 3: 27 February 2015
In this episode we focus on Tamboerskloof and Oranjezicht areas in Cape Town. Lynelle prepares picnic food with the chef from Tamboerswinkel and Christine from The Pretty Blog shows us creative ways of packaging.
We also do a couple of décor DIY’s and actor/TV presenter Marlo Minnaar shows us his favourite spots. Die Heuwels Fantasties chat to us about their new album on vinyl and Paul goes on a JHB inner city tour with 7de Laan actor Wilhelm van der Walt.
Episode 4: 6 March 2015
Paul and Crystal Donna visit Wellington where they find out about the town’s interesting history and where the term “stokkiesdraai” originated. Paul talks rugby with Springbok Cornal Hendricks who grew up in Wellington.
We learn how to make a light fixture for the table and local chef Johan van Schalkwyk uses local ingredients to cook up a storm in the kitchen. In Pretoria Charlene gets to know actress Angelique Gerber and her rugby player boyfriend Jacques Potgieter.
Episode 5: 13 March 2015
Melinda and Paul take a trip to Paternoster where they get to know veteran actor and artist At Botha. Singer Wicus van der Merwe joins Paul on a dune buggy adventure where they also learn more about the town’s history and the Cape Columbine lighthouse. We chat to local winemakers, 7 Sisters and local restaurant owner, Kobus van der Merwe, demonstrates dishes inspired by the area.
