BB Mzansi to premiere early, in new house

Prepare to be tortured a week early uhdikts. Big Brother Mzansi's starting a week earlier than previously scheduled which means it's starting in 10 days time - housemates move in on Sunday, 22 March instead of month-end.

Why? This from Mzansi Magic:
Production is on time so we thought if our schedule allows we can bring forward a week earlier.
The good/potentially-very-problematic news is that they'll be moving into a totally different house. The old burnt down studio at Sasani Studios has been ditched and that terrible replacement house from last season's BB Africa's been relegated to the junk pile. The new house is situated in Linden and it's been chosen to match the season's theme apparently. I don't know anything about Linden - what's it like?

I'm pleased that it's a fresh new house but I'm troubled by it too. Word from Mzansi Magic is that it's been chosen "to accommodate the capacity of housemates for this season" - which freaks me. It makes it sound as if there are gonna be stacks of them which I seriously don't want. I still only want 12.

Speaking of numbers... producers have had a choice of over 2500 potential housemates - this is how many people attended the auditions in the three audition cities. Let's hope they've made the right choices!

Tash, the replacement house for BBA was in Linden, Red Pepper Studios. The local newspapers at the time reported on how neighbouring property owners complained of noise and alledged fans milling around the outside/adjoining premises etc and disturbance in general. Red pepper is flanked by private properties and a couple of business (shops, restaurants, school - small business area of suburb). They had to get special permits and permissions and so I can't imagine because of complaints they will get another permit/permissions?
The website reported before it would also be at Red Pepper Studios where BBA was, so is the new house also within another area of Red Pepper Studios? There are no other studios in Linden.smiley

Hey chatjunkie - thanks for the gosss!  - I didn't know about the complaints. I was under the impression it was a completely new venue this time but I've investigated and it turns out it's gonna be at Red Pepper again - they've obviously been granted the permit despite the complaints.
