Good day good people

I just felt like showing the world a bit more of me. Sometimes one tends to want to throw in the towel and just walk away but I found (as vain as it may sound) taking a look at all the youtube videos I've made brings me back to that place where I feel hungry to get to where I want to be. Entertaining is my first love and as always, nothing would make me happier than to be discovered one day and to do what I do best.

I've always known that breaking into the industry would be difficult and self esteem crushing (if allowed) but I never realised that the older you get the more those feelings of anxiety and pressure to get there tend to grow. But you know what, no matter what, I will continue to pursue this dream of mine and push myself as hard as humanly possible to get to where I ought to be!

New approach...Versatility on Display

So it was a tad bit difficult for me to take this approach when it came to presenting but then I realized, if you are going to attempt to make it, you HAVE to show your versatility

Essentially, presenting is acting. Nobody in their right mind smiles like that or talks like that in real life. So by you putting up videos of yourself doing things in the same way ALL THE TIME just makes you look like a one trick pony.

That was my thought process when I decided to record and upload 2 new videos of myself presenting new topics.

After the Top Billing casting I thought to myself, ok so I've tried the prim and proper way of things when it comes to presenting and maybe I'm not ready for that yet SO I decided to take another approach. The telling it like it is, with no filter, straight forward presenting approach. Instead of talking like I'm in a business meeting, I decided to talk as if every person watching is my close personal friend who I keep it 100s with no matter what!

Check out my videos on youtube and tell me what you think ?? ???? should I go back to the prim and proper way or should I continue to keep it 100s?

Hey Ruth - I definitely vote for the style of "close personal friend who I keep it 100s with no matter what!".

I've always preferred it - prim and proper/business style often makes me feel disconnected from a presenter - makes me feel they aren't talking to me - especially if the style's overly "professional" - whereas the close friend approach is more natural, intimate and accessible. It also leaves a lot more room for spontaneous humour which I always enjoy too.

Superb feedback Tashi!! To be frank, I'm totally feeling the 100s approach too lol. When I watch the latest uploads and compare them to the earlier one where I'm composed and prim, I actually find the earlier one a tad bit boring actually. The new ones spark intrigue, and discussions and even disagreement which is also awesome coz that means more topics and possibly a few follow up vids. Totally with you on that one :-)?

Hey Ruth - very true about the new ones sparking something - definitely - they give things an edge and a point of view.

It's one of the things I love about Project Runway - how the judges always say that the designers need to inject a point of view into their fashion. They really highlight how important it is when it comes to any creative endeavour.
