23-year-old musician Ex Motalane and 22-year-old Sociology graduate Lebo Manale were the first two housemates to get the chop from Big Brother Mzansi on Sunday night (29 March) when they (wisely!) chose to get the hell out of dodge.
Their ejection started with a Big Brother phone call into the house during the live eviction show. Housemates had already been told that the week's nominations were fake but they hadn't been told that the red phone - which had already played a ringing role during the week - would ring.
The phone rang. The housemates exploded in attempts to answer it and it was answered by Ex who was told that he had to leave the house with this partner Lebo.
Lebo and Ex joined Lungsta on stage and were given the choice: stay on the show or take R50,000 each and go. They had 90-seconds to decide.
Lebo was desperate to flee and pounded Ex with words of "wisdom" as to why they should take the cash. Not that she needed to. Ex made as if he wanted to stay but as far as we're concerned he wanted to go too and was looking for any excuse to do it. Which he found by saying that he would leave for Lebo. He cried for a bit at the end and then left with Lebo, both smiling.
Cameras panned to inside of the house where the remaining housemates cheered when they were told that Ex and Lebo had chosen the money and fled.
