Urgh! First I had to
forgive Bruce Jenner for 10 years of reality crimes and now I'm being forced to watch the Kartrashians when I don't want to. The trouble is I have to because I'm quizzy to see how he handles dealing with the family.
E!'s doing a two-part special later this month called Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce and it's about him for once - talking to the family about his transgender switch. It includes conversations between him, Kris, Kim and the rest of the Krowd.
Even though the show's so overly constructed there could be interesting realities in it. I'm keen on seeing if their expressions reveal how they
really feel about it. What do you say when you discuss such things with your wife and children?
Bruce has revealed that you have to tell them because of the huge problems it causes when you don't but how do you do it? Do you let yourself be "caught" in a dress? (Kim caught Bruce) Do you wear the dress to supper one night? I'm thinking the best would be to tell your wife and then together tell the children. Would they call you he or she?
Interestingly Bruce has chosen to be referred to as him for now. E! actually mentions it in the press statement about the show. They say:
*** Please note, at this time, Bruce Jenner is choosing to not live publicly in the media as a woman and will be referred to as Bruce Jenner and with male pronouns.***
What will his new name be when he changes his mind about this? E! will no doubt do a special about it.
In the meantime, there's the Family Reunion first. Both Parts One and Two will air on Sunday, 24 May: Part One at 19h00 and Part Two at 20h00. (Please note these times were updated on 14 May after the times changed).
