Special interest note:

Generations almost lost it's record spot at No#1 this week: notice how Skeem Saam needed just over 59,000 to take the number one spot! This is because Generations suffered a meltdown on Wednesday, 29 April when it changed time to accommodate the ABSA Premiership soccer. It aired at 21h30 instead of 20h00 and viewership plunged.

On the Tuesday night before, Generations averaged 6,221,000 viewers and on the Wednesday of the soccer this plunged to 3,226,000 viewers. The soccer also averaged 3,226,000 viewers in the Generations timeslot.

Where did the rest of the Gen' viewers go? Over a million went to Ashes to Ashes. On the Wednesday of the soccer the ratings for Ashes to Ashes hit at all-time high of 2,535,000 viewers.

A chart showing what happened:

Show Tuesday 28 April 2015  Wednesday 29 April 2015 Thursday 29 April 2015
Generations 6,221,000 3,226,000 6,090,000
Ashes to Ashes 1,350,000 2,535,000 1,284,000
ABSA Premiership   3,226,000

Hmmm, a curious thing it is, Matatiele and Umlilo have the same viwership numbers on the dot.

I hate it when Soccer interrupts regular programming. The SABC must create a channel that is exclusively for sport. Anyway, the stats are very interesting indeed. Week 19 should be very intriguing too.

Skeem saam is doing very well hey .so by the look of things if ashes2ashes is not continued when their episodes end in august ,those viewers will eventually go back to generations .

But why are the figures taking too long to be released? We are currently on Week 20 yet we are given delayed figures of week 18. Unlike last year when they would be released immediately after that particular week is over.
