A note to everyone going to the Cape Town auditions this weekend: the date has changed from Saturday 11 July to Sunday 12 July instead.
-------
It's that time of year. Time for singers to use their voices to see the world.
Duma Ndlovu's Word of Mouth Pictures (who make Muvhango) are holding their annual Lion King auditions this month and will be searching in three cities this year.
As you may know, Word of Mouth are the official auditionees for the production round the world - they've been involved with the castings for a number years.
The show's been on Broadway for 18 years and is also performed round the world in various countries including the UK (who have two companies), Spain, Germany, Brazil, Australia and the US, who have touring productions.
The upcoming auditions are for all of these companies i.e. if successful you'll join one of the companies in a specific country. Disney insist that there be South African singers in every production round the world.
Audition must-knows
- You need to be between 18 to 29 to audition.
- It doesn't matter how little or how much experience you have. Auditions are open to both professionals and non-professionals.
- What do you have to do to audition? Sing!
