No, no, NO!! It's all so frustrating and yet so crushingly inevitable. The snuffing of Jonathan on Survivor on Monday was entirely his fault and now he's left us while the Spawn of Satan lives on.
Not that I have any negative feelings towards him for not committing to an alliance with Lisa - he was too dense and slow to take action at the right time but that's his only fault. Everything else he did was the bomb, especially what he's shown us about her.
He had a knock-on effect on her right up until his final moments when she was so conflicted at Tribal Council - when Jeff asked her about her past and she got so cagey.
Jeff obviously wanted to see if she was willing to talk about it and I was surprised when she wasn't - you know how reality contestants lurve to overshare. I was verrrry quizzy about what she was referring to though and imagined you would be too so I've been snooping for the answer.
Turns out she got divorced 10 days before going on the show - secretly. Very few people knew about it apparently but she'd been planning it for ages. She was married to a church pastor and wasn't happy from the sounds of it.
I found two articles about it (both spoiler-free):
one says that she felt she didn't love him as much as she should have and the
other says her father encouraged her to marry him.
Of course these might not be true but they do sound very likely considering Jeff's question to her. Both articles mention that she waited until their third child went to college before doing the deed so she spent years being trapped in her marriage. I'm thinking Jeff must have been referring this - to her feeling so emotionally trapped in a situation again.
