When the forgetful Pat Mojalefa (I hope you got the joke), when he introduced Nthabeleng (Mona Moyane) to us I thought, "Oh, I hope its not another yuppy puppy dragged in a white coat to prove women can be brilliant too".
And she proved me wrong, because she's unlike any other actress I've seen. She's an enigma, beautiful and there's something about her, so the whole time you're watching her deliver her lines like a lady you wonder "where have I seen her?"
She's not an underdog like Busi's James or popular like Thandaza, she's just this radiance of sunlight that brings the whole room to a standstill. And usually consistency is boring with actresses, but I love her golden afro. It's a weird colour, she's got her own style, so she demands a second look.
So keep your weaves and stilettos Masebitsana and Matshidiso because we love our natural golden afros with 60's platforms, and the brown dress from Small street. Yes, she can get away with bringing her grandmother clothes on set n bringing back the 50s, 60's back.
Watch the repeat this Saturday when she kicks Moriti out of Carol's room, watch how she says "this noise is unacceptable". Actresses don't speak that elegant anymore, not even Karabo from Generations. And I love that she's hardly in the media. Does anyone know where she's from?
