Menzi Ngubane has embraced e.tv with same enthusiasm Mfundi Vundla has for Rapulana Seiphemo.
Menzi, who was most recently seen as Detective Nkonzo Mazibuko on Ashes to Ashes, has signed on to star in Gold Diggers and makes his debut this month, as Patrick's wandering brother Israel.
He arrives on Friday, 30 October, in a shroud of unknowns. The family have concerns about him but, as you'll see from the
November teasers, he absorbs himself into everyone's lives and by mid-November he's making moves on Ruth. A week later he takes control of the family's situation.
His arrival isn't goodbye to Detective Nkonzo on Ashes. In fact, it's the total opposite. There's a whole new world awaiting the detective on Season 2 because his character's being extended. The new season's introducing his wife and family so we'll get to know a lot more about him.
Which means Menzi will be on screen at 20h00 for months to come when Ashes takes over from Gold Diggers in March.
