The Top 6 become the Top 5 this week when the Idols wannabes go through another live battle in their pursuit of winning the title of Idol.
And they'll be joined by someone who was in exactly the same position as them almost 10 years ago. The guest for this week's show is former Canadian Idol finalist Carly Rae Jepsen who went on to carve herself a highly lucrative career after placing third on the fifth season of the show.
She's in town on a two-city tour of South Africa which started in Cape Town on Wednesday (21 October). She moves on to Pretoria on Saturday and on to Idols on Sunday.
There are two themes for the song choices for the night: How It Should Be Done and Viewers’ Choice. The first covers songs that have been performed by auditionees who massacred them and the second selection has been compiled by viewers on WeChat.
