A fake Twitter account set up in Menzi's name.

Whoever created Menzi Ngubane's fake Twitter account thinks that he's the best known actor in Mzansi.

And we agree.

Who else is better known than him? When you consider the question from various angles, Menzi keeps coming up tops.

Here's why we think he deserves the title:

He was the star of the most popular show in the country for years.

He won the title of Star of Mzansi at the Stars of Mzansi awards in 2008 as if there was no competition or question that he would win. He wiped out the competition for the R1-million overall award (voted for by the public) and also won the Best Actor category.

He's been married, divorced and married again and the press have followed every moment and photo.

He was surrounded by secrecy and speculation when he suddenly fell ill in 2011 which sparked rumours that he had died, another sign of how best known he is because this only happens to the Very Famous.

The press followed every development once it was confirmed that he was battling kidney failure and blood pressure problems. People have continued speaking about his health for years.

He was fired from the #1 show in the country. He's one of the Generations 16.

There was huge amounts interest in where he would go next. Rumours went into overdrive and he made a blitz of headlines when he signed with e.tv for Ashes to Ashes.

He's back in primetime at 20h00 and isn't going anywhere. After his stint on Gold Diggers he'll be back as Detective Nkonzo on Ashes to Ashes for Season 2, with an extended role. The new season will be introducing Nkonzo's wife and family revealing that the show believes viewers want to see more of Menzi.

People have set up fake Twitter and Facebook accounts in his name.

With these credentials, we'd say that he's definitely best known. Agree/disagree? Sound off below!

I reckon he is overrated because he was part of Generations for years. I think Rapulana Seiphemo (he's been in a lot of successful movies and different soaps), Sello Maake KaNcube are better known. And since when does an actor's personal adversities vindicate him as being best known?
