In true DStv style, there’s good news and there’s bad news. #MoreCompactNonsense
The good news: On 10 December, the Travel Channel (on 179) will be added to the Compact and Family bouquets. Here's a link to their website so you can see what sort of shows it has:

The bad news: Animal Planet (on 183) will be taken away from Compact viewers on the same day.
Not cool if you love the channel as much as I do. I always tune into it if I want to zone into another dimension because I’m mad about the channel’s attitude towards creatures.
The reason for this turn of events is that Discovery Networks are implementing some sort of new packaging strategy with their stable of channels which currently consists of: Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery and Discovery World.
There’s no word yet on what the new strategy is. Will keep you posted.
