Special Notes
Muvhango Gain
On Thursday, 19 November Muvhango made a whopping gain of 32% over the same day the previous week (increasing from 4,104,000 to 5,416,000 viewers). This was due to Hangwani and Gizara's wedding, which received
extensive coverage on TVSA.
World Cup Havoc
The delayed FIFA World Cup Qualifier between South Africa and Angola aired on SABC1 on Tuesday 17 November, at 19h00, and wreaked total havoc with the week's ratings.
It began by displacing the News (which aired at 21h30) and Generations (which aired at 22h00), dramatically decreasing its viewership and dragging down the show's weekly average. Uzalo was moved to the Thursday night and thus wasn't impacted on that night.
The soccer meant large gains were made for All of Us and Visionaries' Lounge on SABC2; The Mentalist on SABC3 and in particular Gold Diggers on e.tv, which scored a massive series high of 2.5-million viewers.
There were big losses for shows like Muvhango, Rhythm City, Scandal!, Traffic!, B&B, isiBaya and Zabalaza, most of which lost at least half their regular audience.
Sport Awards
The awards aired on SABC 1 on 22 November and didn't make the Top 10 on the channel. It was watched by 1, 749,000 viewers.
Idols
The Idols finale aired on the same night, on M-Net and Mzansi Magic, and totalled 1,144,000 viewers.
