We're mid-way through The Voice SA Blind auditions and we've seen and a heard a lot of singing but there's also a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes that we haven't seen.
I've been quizzy about what goes on backstage so I snooped for answers and discovered these secrets:
The blonde chick
You'll have noticed her when contestants move through the stage door to perform. Sometimes she hands them their mike when she opens the door and sometimes she doesn't. If she doesn't, it's already on stage when they get there. Why?
Turns out it's the contestants' choice as to what makes them feel more comfortable. They can choose which they prefer - whatever they're most comfortable with.
Play it again! (and again and again)
We don't see the contestants rehearsing their songs with the band but they do and they rehearse a
lot. Each contestant rehearses their song as well as possible with the band.
They don't have a set number of times that they go through the song with the band but rather they rehearse until they feel 100% happy with their performance so that they're as comfortable and confident as possible when they do their audition.
Song choices
All of them choose their own audition songs. They can't choose anything in the world but they have a large choice. The songs need to have the music rights cleared for them so they choose from a catalogue that has thousands of songs they can choose from.
Buzzzzzzzzzz
ZZZZZZ
The buzzer doesn't actually make the dhoooooooof sound we hear on TV when the coaches buzz and swing on their chairs - it's enhanced in post-production.
