One of the best things about being an identical twin has to be the fact that you have the freedom to swap who you are. One day you can be you, the next you can be your twin and no-one would know that you're interacting with them from such a different perspective.
TV shows and movies have always been intrigued by this idea and now Telemundo's exploring it in the channel's new romantic comedy If Only I Were You.
It premieres next month and follows the twantics (twin antics) of Perico Perez and Leonardo Fuentemayor who grew up without knowing about each other. They were separated at birth and have very different lives: one rich and one average/poor.
They find out about each other as adults and decide to swap lives so that they can manage various complicated situations. Which include the management of girls of course.
The roles of both Perico and Leonardo are played by Mexican actor and singer Eugenio Siller, best known for his starring roles in Aurora and Queen of Hearts.
Telemundo newbie Danna Paola also has a starring role as Paloma, a single mother who works at a flower stand. She gets interwined with the twins and goes through a process of overcoming her distrust of men by finding love with a man she never expected to care for.
It's Danna's first role for Telemundo - she's a Mexican singer and actress who landed her big break at age 4 with a role on Mexico's version of Sesame Street.
She headlines with Kimberly Dos Ramos who can currently be seen as Irina on A Passion for Revenge. The lead cast also includes Laura Flores (of Queen of Hearts) and Jonathan Islas (The Impostor).
The series finale aired in Mexico this month and it's airing in the US as we speak. It premieres here on Monday, 23 May at 16h20 with a rebroadcast in the evening.
