The time has arrived for the 2016 Rio Olympics which open at the
Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro this Friday (5 August).
You'll find everything you need to know about SABC's coverage right here, including a full schedule of each event:
SABC2: the headline act
The majority of events and shows will air on SABC2 while SABC1 and 3 will focus on specific sports.
SABC1 will broadcast the soccer and basketball games and SABC3 will broadcast a nightly highlights package of tennis, beach volley ball and golf.
The opening ceremony will air live on SABC2 in the early hours of Saturday morning (6 August), from 00h50 to 04h30 - there's a five hour time difference between us.

Live highlights from the finals, athlete profiles, the lifestyle in and around Rio. The show showcases highlights from the previous night across all sports.
Hola Rio
On: SABC2 from 22h00 - 05h00
Presented by Lebo Motsoeli and Udo Carelse
This the main show on SABC 2. It will broadcast the heats and finals across all sports.
Rio Highlights
On: SABC3 from 23h30 to 04h30 daily
Presented by: Mathapelo Phale and Kwena Moabelo
A highlights show focusing on tennis, beach volley ball and golf.
