Ndlaleni Mkhwanazi/Thomas Gumede
The new season of Mzansi Magic's reality show Love Back puts an exclamation mark on the awesomeness of South Africa's constitution. It returns for Season 4 on Tuesday, 11 October at 20h00 and attempts to reconcile the relationship between 31-year-old Ndlaleni Mkhwanazi from Soweto and her ex-wife Dimakatso.
The thing that struck me when I saw the teaser for it is how insane it is that their situation would be illegal -
and deadly - in countries round the world. People are still fighting for the right to marry who they want let alone the right to divorce them!
It's pure mind-boggling craziness to think that there are so many countries where people can't marry who they choose because of people who think they have a right to tell everyone else what to do. It's beyond madness!!!
But we don't have to worry about such dark ages oppression because Ndlaleni and Dimakatso are headlining the #LoveBackComeback and Ndlaleni's hoping to get Dimakatso back.
It's gonna be a tough one because Ndlaleni broke Dimakatso's heart by cheating on her. She cheated on her with a girl she describes as someone "I always wanted in high school." It wasn't even Dimakatso who filed for the divorce - Ndaleni filed for it when the truth came out about her infidelities.
Should Dimakatso take her back? The divorce puts a biggo spanner in the works if you ask me. It's so extreme and now she wants to turn back the clock. Hopefully Dimakatso and Thomas Gumede will make her squirm.
Thomas, who also produces the show, will be back to host after Wright Ngubeni took over from him for Seasons 2 and 3.
