E! seeks new South African presenter to headline the channel

Step aside Bonang & Co. there's a new E! Entertainment host on the horizon but no-one knows Who.

South Africa's Guiliana Rancic awaits in the wings. Our very own Ryan Seacrest has to polish his teeth but doesn't even know it yet.

That's right folks! E! Entertainment is on a search for the channel's first signature South African host who will host future events for E!

The audition details haven't been confirmed yet but they need to happen in the next three months because the finalists will be chosen by February 2017.

The auditions will be searching for eight contenders who have their fingers on the pulse of pop culture and the eight will compete for the job in a six-part reality show which starts in February.

The hopefuls will live in a luxurious mansion and the series will follow them as they showcase their presenting skills in a series of weekly challenges. Each week... you guessed it... one will go. A panel of judges will eliminate weekly until One remains.

Could it be you? Do you want it to be? If so, stay tuned to TVSA for the audition deets.

! An update:

Unlike other presenter searches, there aren't going to be any open auditions for this unfortunately. We asked E! when the auditions are going to be and it turns out they've already happened through a closed casting process that wasn't open to the public.

This is the statement we received from E!:

The contestants for The Search: E! Host South Africa were carefully selected through a casting process. We took into consideration a number of criteria including previous presenting experience, pop culture knowledge and a passion for the E! brand.
