When I caught up with Generations star Pearl Monama for her
TVSA interview about her role as Sphe, I asked her to share the secret to her success when it comes to acting.
What's her no.1 acting tip?
This is it:
Pearl: Never stop working. I think the biggest mistake that we can make as performers is to be complacent. You're only as good as your last show and on Generations, because we shoot scene by scene, you can only be as good as your last scene so you can't have a brilliant show and think: "I'm the top dog, I'm on top of my game," because anything can go wrong at any time.
I come from a theatre background and I know what it's like to have an extremely good show where everything goes well and you get a standing ovation afterwards and then the next day everything falls apart.
You can never stop working on yourself and on your craft. You're never perfect - you strive to be but you're never as perfect as the work itself. Never stop working on yourself, on your body and on your craft.
A cool piece of advice for aspiring actors.
