Omnibus alert! Star catch-up special

A heads-up that the first five episodes of Star will re-air on FOX Life on Saturday, 4 February from 18h00 as a catch-up for those who missed the first episodes over the holz.

The omnibus coincides with the premiere broadcast of the series on Mondays at 21h00 so you'll be up to date to watch on Mondays once you've watched the catch-up.

Here's a close-up on the series from the official synposis:

Lee Daniels, creator and executive producer of Empire, partners with Tom Donaghy (The Whole Truth) to pull back the curtain on music’s gritty and dark reality in Star.

Featuring a soundtrack of original music and performances, the series follows three talented singers, desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom, as they navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success.

Meet Star (newcomer Jude Demorest), a tough-as-nails young woman, who decides to take control of her destiny after growing up in the foster care system.

Star tracks down her sister, Simone (newcomer Brittany O’Grady), and her Instagram bestie, Alexandra (newcomer Ryan Destiny), and together, the trio journey to Atlanta to become music superstars.

Reality soon dawns on the girls’ fantasies, and they start to learn that ambition often comes at a cost. And sometimes that cost is too high.

Queen Latifah plays Carlotta, a surrogate mother to the young crew and Benjamin Bratt rounds out the cast as Jahil, a down-on-his-luck talent agent looking to revitalize his career, who’s taken a certain shine to Star.

The series also features Lenny Kravitz as a guest Star.

Me too! I LOVE IT. Stopped watching Empire midway through season 2. Star is my saving grace. Let's hope Lee doesn't lose the plot.

I loved this show after watching the Pilot. I was a bit worried when i realized that its now airing in the US but FOX L isnt showing it since i thought they'd follow the Empire format...This should be good! Need to set a reminder for the 4th of Feb i guess...
