Ha! So that's what winning the British version of X Factor will do for ya.
You can sell a house for $8,495,000 or rather, R143,823,439.16.
Various international publications reported the news this week - that One Direction hotshot Harry Styles has put his Los Angeles home on the market for this exorbitant price.
The house is a very far cry from where our X Factor winners Four are living obviously. Still, I'm impressed to see that they've remained together, two and half years after the show.
It's hardly like the show or SABC1 helped them in staying relevant after they won and yet they're still together, performing, releasing singles etc.
They released a Bieber mash-up vid earlier this year, in what seems to be a bid to be the opening act at his South African concerts. They weren't the opening act but it doesn't matter because at least they were creative and the vid got over 160 000 plays:
They've also been performing gigs, making acoustic vids and they've got a style thing going on, which mostly looks good - when they're wearing their own clothes.
Their
Facebook page shows that they've gotten involved with a clothing sponsorship that makes them look like Project Runway spacemen so I'm not impressed by this - you could argue it's different I suppose but I don't buy the argument.
Ultimately it's clear that they've been working hard to ensure their win means something and it's paying off because they're still doing their thang.
As for X Factor SA and another season, SABC1 has confirmed that it's definitely not happening on the channel this year. Producer Kee-Leen Irvine of Rapid Blue told TVSA that's it's being considered by other channels so we'll have to see. Will keep you in the loop natch.
