So DStv subscribers are getting Fear the Walking Dead back after it was snatched away when AMC went dark last year.
It's defs going to be back - but not yet - the
new SundanceTV channel is still warming up after going live on 108 last week.
The channel includes AMC shows so it's the new home of Fear the Walking Dead and Into the Badlands.
The new Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead premiered in America this week but it's only going to premiere on Sundance on Monday, 24 July at 21h00, starting with a double bill, which is how it started in the US. It airs in single episodes afterwards.
I'm not gonna get cranky about the long delay because it's a new channel so I won't be a neggies Nancy so early in its arrival. I'll rather be charitable and say that I assume this delay is
ONLY to accommodate catch-ups of Seasons 1 and 2 and that future seasons of similar shows will air within 24-hours of the US like they used to.
Right now the channel's airing Season 1 in triple bills on Monday nights at 21h00 and it's going to be followed by a run of Season 2, which has never aired on DStv. This will air in triple bills on Mondays at 21h00, from Monday 3 to 17 July.
Once Season 3 starts, each episode will be followed by the companion show Talking Dead: Fear Edition. This is the aftershow hosted by Chris Hardwick where he chats to the cast, producers, fans etc. about the episode.
As for what to expect from the season... prepare for Hardgore from eps 1. Keep a close eye out for the spoon in the eye. And not in the eye of a zombie but a despicable human.
Here's a fun featurette trailer:
