You've asked for it and here it is. The latest on what's coming up on Telemundo once
Iron Rose ends in October.
Iron Rose wraps on Friday the 13th (brrrr) and Price of Fame premieres immediately after, on Monday, 16 October at
21h00 instead of 18h00.
Telemundo time changes
The reason for this is that the repeats are going to air in the 18h00 slot instead of at 21h00 so that new episodes premiere at 21h00 daily.
This is part of an overall change that's going to impact on future shows. Episodes are going to premiere at night, in the primetime slots, and the repeats will air the following afternoon, up until 18h00.
The new structure starts with Price of Fame and will be introduced with other new novelas as they get introduced. We'll keep you posted on this.
The what's what
As for what we can expect from Price of Fame... it's the first musical novela from Telemundo and it stars a cast of actors, singers and dancers. The style is similar to that of Empire and Nashville where the drama is punctuated by musical numbers.
It follows the story of the Solars, a hotshot Latin musical family who've settled in Houston.
The main action centres round Mateo Solar, a composer/producer who falls in love with a young pop singer Manara Matamoros who he wants to turn into a sensation.
The problem with Manara is that she's the sister of a human and gun trafficker who goes by the name of Amado, which creates an explosive sitch for Mateo and everyone caught in between.
Alberto Guerra
Cuban actor Alberto Guerra stars as Mateo, American actor Juan Pablo Medina plays Amado and singer/songwriter María León plays Manara.
María León
Maria is a professional singer who released five albums with the band Playa Limbo before leaving to go solo. She's written two songs for Price of Fame *
think Spanish accent*: Una y otra ve and Si alguna vez.
While you're in the Spanish of state of mind, give this a whirl: Guerra de ídolos (it's the original Spanish title of the show.)
