Madam Secretary is a political drama which follows Elizabeth Adams McCord (Téa Leoni), the shrewd, determined Secretary of State who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home.
In the Season 3 premiere: when a storm destroys a naval base in Bahrain, Elizabeth urges President Dalton to reexamine his approach to climate change and his overall foreign policy - something that could jeopardise his re-election campaign.
Also, Jose Campos tries to bring Henry back into the DIA fold, and the McCords worry that their family is being stalked when they discover Jason's laptop may have been hacked.
