So Worlds Apart came down to the least evil of the final five on Tuesday night.
I wasn't a Mike fan - he was too preachy for my liking - but he was the only one who deserved to win and he has Jenn to thank for it.
Her final Tribal speech definitely won him the show because the jury was pathologically bitter and twisted towards him just moments before she started her crusade.
Mike also has his brilliant mom to thank for his victory. Her visit was such a symbol of what a parent should be and you could see she wasn't just saying the cool things she said because of how it made her look. It genuinely was
all about him.
Her visit also highlighted the fact that you can literally tell what kind of mother you have by asking: what impact would your mother have on you if she visited you just before you went into battle for a million bucks? Would you want her to be your Special Survivor Visitor or not?
As for Double D Dan McBoobs... what a tit! I wasn't surprised by his badmouthing of the show because he was clearly a legend in his own mind while he was there and didn't have a clue that everyone loathes him.
I've been browsing for the interviews with him that Jeff was talking about and found these articles on People and Toronto Sun where he blathers about the editing:
'Survivor: Worlds Apart' castoff Dan Foley to Jeff Probst: 'You guys did me dirty'
Dan Foley: My Survivor Portrayal Was Unfair
I've also gathered Sierra and Rodney's Ponderosa vids and I'm gobsmacked 'cos Sierra was popular in America.
These are some of the comments beneath her Ponderosa vid:
Truly a game changer
She's the fan favorite/game changer that we deserve
She should of won
Madness!! I can honestly say that I didn't discover a single thing about her during the show - she's a blank piece of cardboard and yet she's going to return for Season 34, Game Changers.
Thankfully it isn't because she was so "popular" but more out of desperation on the show's part. She made it to the final rounds of the auditions for the season but didn't land a spot and then, just before the show started filming, one of the Chosen Ones dropped out - Natalie the bomb, winner of San Juan Del Sur - so the show cast Sierra instead.
Here are the final Ponderosa vids, followed by flash facts:
Flash facts:
- I liked that the show introduced the Second Chance cast at the end of the finale - it sucked for the Worlds Apart crowd because they got all toffed up for less screen time but it was cool for us. Unfortunately SABC3's spoiling the fun and momentum of it because Second Chance isn't starting next week - we have to suffer a repeat of
Dinner Date instead.
- I'm convinced that
Terry Deitz will be the first Second Chancer to be voted out of the season - no-one in their right minds will keep him around.
- Carolyn was the most crushed out of everyone in the finale. First she came second to Mike and then she didn't even get a second shot.
