Episode 1

1993: we meet a young Ngcolosi as he convinces his brother Phakade to sell his cattle so that he may invest in an oil company. In Umlazi, a young MaZulu reveals to MaNdlovu that Ngcolosi is sterile. They resolve to keep this a secret from him, instead convincing Phakade to perform a traditional rite, fathering children on Ngcolosi's behalf.

Present day: we establish the Bhengu family, now hugely successful, with four children. Zakhiti, Nganono, Zithulele and Buhle. Ngcolosi loves them all, but there is tension with Zithulele. Adding to this, a Sangoma arrives unannounced at the house with a message for Buhle that threatens to expose the lie this family was built on.

Tuesday 17 April 2018
Episode 2

MaNdlovu and MaZulu try to track down Macingwane, but Ngcolosi beats them to the punch by enlisting the help of his trusted old friend, Phunyuka. Ngcolosi finally hears Macingwane's message but MaNdlovu and MaZulu manage to persuade him that the man is wrong and has ulterior motives.

In the midst of marital meltdown, Zane trashes his office ahead of an important interview, disturbing Pranav. Futhi is unimpressed by the local Oswenka champion's performance. She doesn't want to reveal that she has feelings for him. Futhi decides she would like to try Oswenka.

Wednesday 18 April 2018
Episode 3

MaNdlovu consults her healer looking for a way out of performing an Umemulo for Buhle, but the healer insists it must be done. MaNdlovu and MaZulu share this information with Phakade, who grudgingly undertakes to help them make the problem go away.

After a successful interview with a journalist, Zane voices his pent-up resentment at being denied the opportunity to be CEO and falls out with his partners.

Futhi borrows her father’s old suit to practice her Oswenka moves. Her friends tell her she’s going to need a proper outfit for the competition. Futhi decides to go to town to see if she can pick up a bargain.

Thursday 19 April 2018
Episode 4

Tension between Ngcolosi and Zane escalates causing ripples in the company. The situation with the Sangoma grows tense, threatening the family secret, forcing MaNdlovu to confront Ngcolosi to convince him not to react.

Namadonsela fears her husband has feelings for MaZulu after walking in on them. Futhi arranges to go shopping with Buhle for a suitable outfit for the Oswenka competition. Futhi cannot find anything in her price range to buy or even hire so Zithulele offers to lend her one of his suits.

Celiwe is alarmed when she sees Buhle hugging a ‘man’ (Futhi) in her bedroom.

Friday 20 April 2018
Episode 5

Phakade is compelled to lie to Namadonsela about where he’s going. He, MaNdlovu and MaZulu appeal to Macingwane to stop making demands. Macingwane warns that if the ancestors aren’t appeased then they will suffer the consequences.

Celiwe realises that the ‘man’ in Buhle’s room is actually her cousin, Futhi dressed in male clothes. Buhle phones Mira to see if she knows any good tailors to alter the suit.

Monday 23 April 2018
Episode 6

Ngcolosi is not happy when he sees the good relationship his sons have with his brother, Phakade. MaNdlovu tells him there's nothing wrong with his kids having a good relationship with their uncle.

Nerupa has successfully altered the suit. She invites buhle and Futhi to stay for supper. Buhle and Futhi discover that Jomo used to participate in Oswenka competitions.

Macingwane awakens from a nightmare, and we realise he's been given another message by the ancestors. Phakade addresses the ancestors and receives a sign that he has been heard.

Nganono and Shira address the tensions in the office, Nganono resolves to ask his dad what is going on.

Tuesday 24 April 2018
Episode 7

MaZulu starts to wonder whether MaNdlovu is struggling with her sanity after the shock of the sign from the ancestors, and tries to keep her away from the edge.

Phunyuka tries to stall Macingwane by stashing him in his own office until he can make sure Ngcolosi has left, but the Sangoma finally gives Phunyuka the slip and escapes into the Maluju offices.

Zane’s attempts to pitch a partnership with a green energy company backfire badly when Ngcolosi rejects the notion. Zane demands that the board look at the issue, and his day only gets worse when he learns that Belinda is leaving him.

The conflict between the partners worries Nganono. Namadonsela doesn’t buy Futhi’s story of why she was in Durban. Futhi tells her friends about her successful trip to Durban. Namadonsela thinks Futhi is selling stolen goods.

Wednesday 25 April 2018
Episode 8

Phunyuka gets rid of the Sangoma before the man can confront Ngcolosi and then instructs some minions to ensure that the Sangoma stays away. MaNdlovu presses ngcolosi to covet a majority share in Maluju oil in order to leave a proper and lasting legacy.

Zane pleads with Belinda to give him one more chance. She urges him to choose his family over Maluju oil. Phakade believes the only way to placate the ancestors is to be truthful but MaNdlovu warns him that the truth will destroy the Bhengu’s.

Zithulele confronts the Sangoma and demands to know what the man wants with his family. Phakade doesn’t think Futhi would sell stolen goods and urges Namadonsela to phone Zithulele to check.

Namadonsela phones Zithulele and finds out that he did lend Futhi some clothes. Namadonsela doesn’t want Futhi to wear men’s clothes.

Thursday 26 April 2018
Episode 9

Zithulele confronts Macingwane, warning him to stay away from the Bhengu family. He later wonders about Phunyuka’s relationship to his father. Zane begs Belinda for a second chance, promising to spend more time with the family.

Meanwhile, MaNdlovu and MaZulu worry about whether Phakade will reveal their secret. For his part, Phakade resolves to reveal all to Ngcolosi. Ngcolosi makes sure Pranav plans to vote for oil. The church ladies pray over Futhi.

Namadonsela doesn’t voice it, but she worries that there’s something more to Futhi dressing like a man. Little does Mnyamane know that he will be competing against Futhi at the next Oswenka competition?

Friday 27 April 2018
Episode 10

Phakade visits Ngcolosi to tell him the truth, but his resolve is tested when he observes the heartfelt relationships Ngcolosi enjoys with his children. MaNdlovu arrives to stop Phakade from spilling the beans but has seemingly shown up too late.

Pranav tries to convince Ngcolosi and Zane to vote together and protect their friendship, but they insist on voting independently. Zane ambushes Pranav with a heartfelt pitch geared at compelling him to vote green and Pranav sees merit in it.

Zithulele tries to extract information re the sangoma’s agenda from Phunyuka, but a shifty Phunyuka claims he has none to offer and warns Zithulele against chasing ghosts. Futhi’s friends think she should go out with Mnyamane. Futhi pretends not to be interested.

Monday 30 April 2018
Episode 11

MaNdlovu and MaZulu fear the worst when Phakade threatens to tell Ngcolosi the truth, however Phakade has a change of heart, much to everyone’s relief.

Zane loses the crucial boardroom vote but is strangely calm about the situation, while he rekindles things with Belinda. Futhi tells Phakade that he looks tired and he should not judge the Oswenka contest that weekend.
