Renewed!
It's a no-brainer that e.tv's surprise
ratings topper Imbewu: The Seed would be renewed for a second season but it's always good to have an official confirm that it's definitely happening.
Season 1 ends on 12 April 2019 and series creator Duma Ndlovu has confirmed Season 2
on his Facebook page.
e.tv's also put an exclamation mark on its belief in the series by loading it on new streamer Viu, along with their #1 soapie Scandal!
As we told you
here, the SABC has gone into bizzness with Viu by moving Uzalo and Skeem Saam from YouTube to the new streamer in a section called SABC Collection.
And e.tv's done the same with an e.tv Collection.
Viu officially launched yesterday (28 February) and Scandal! and Imbewu are in the line-up, also with a "Bye!" to YouTube. The final YouTube episodes were posted on 27 February.
Besides e.tv's top two soapies, their collection includes Gold Diggers and Broken Vows - not new seasons but previous ones - and various dramas e.g. Z'bondiwe.

According to Viu's PR company The Communications Firm, the content currently viewable for free in the e.tv and SABC collections will remain free. It would be madness to charge for free-to-air TV and we're relieved that they know this.
Viu also has a paid for Premium service which features other content. You'll find info, prices etc. in the FAQs here:

Once you've tried it, give us a holler and let us know what you think of it and how well (or not) it works for you.
