RIP Nomhle Nkonyeni

Please join us for a minute of silence for prolific actress Nomhle Nkonyeni who passed away in hospital at 04h30 today (Wednesday, 10 July 2019)...
.....

The news was confirmed by Nomhle's nephew Vusi Manapha in a statement to The Herald this morning.

Nomhle, whose most recent TV appearances include roles on e.tv's Scandal! and Mzansi Magic's Igazi, received the SAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.

Earlier this year she was awarded The Order of Ikhamanga in Silver by President Cyril Ramaphosa for her contribution to the country's arts and culture.

In addition to her acting, she was also well known for her voice, as the narrator on SABC1's docu-drama series Ngempela. 

She was 77.
