TVSA can exclusively reveal that three-time SAFTA winner Mothusi Magano has been signed to Skeem Saam.
Mothusi, who is repped by Owen S Management, debuts in spring and plays Tumishang, a law student who meets Pretty (Lerato Marabe) at university.
They're in the same class, they get chatting and next thing he moves in with Pretty and MaNtuli (Dieketseng Mnisi).
"He rents out a shack in the back room of Pretty's house," Mothusi told us when we chatted to him to find out about his character.
Tumishang is a 30-something student who goes back to university after dropping out the first time. His father refused to keep paying for his studies after his first year so Tumishang bailed to find moolah and himself.
Which he did in gardens.
This from Mothusi: "He ended up looking for a job and he did quite a few kinda... just stuff to get by until he got to this place where he learned about gardening and he had a passion for it.
"Slowly but surely he saved up enough money to go back to 'varsity much later so he's the old guy at campus. He still does it while studying as well. Pretty's mom is crazy about him because she loves her garden."
Does he pay his rental in gardening?
Mothusi: "No-no, he pays but because it's his passion he can't help but take care of it."
And he has another passion. The show's being hush-hush about his storylines but what we do know is that he's going to be a lurve interest to someone.
Pretty? It's not as clear-cut as that apparently. MaNtuli!?! We'd be thrilled to see her get some younger-dude action but it doesn't seem likely. Who could it be? Let us know who you think!
As for Mothusi and his new role... how did he feel when he heard he landed it?
Mothusi: "I was excited because to be a working actor is a privilege and I love being there - everybody is so nice. I look forward to going to work, hearing them all joke around, they're like a family, it's awesome.
"And the catering... it's definitely the best. It's just delicious. On most shows I don't usually eat the set food - I had a bad experience one time - but there I can't wait for lunch."
Catch Mothusi on Skeem Saam from mid-September. You know where and when.
